Having left the Old Cedar earlier this year, let's pop in and see how Vera has been settling in to her new job as caretaker/guard teddy babe for the cosy cottage in the canadian woods...

First job of the day is to sweep the deck of all those pesky pine needles and cones, which those nasty douglas squirrels like to chuck onto the cottage from above:

Got to keep the deck nice and clean for cosy!

Then it's time to feed the bat before his bedtime:

In the summertime, the sun gets a little too bright, so it's time for a little light reading:

After lunch, time to retire to the back of the cottage to enjoy a nice lunchtime scary movie or three:

The evening chores are the worst, tho.

Those evil douglas squirrels start clambering over the roof, chucking pine cones onto the nice, clean deck and cackling mischievously to each other....so there's no option except to get the broom out once again:

Shoo! Shoo! Nasty beasties! Before I make kebabs out of you!

Bah! Curse those early evening sunbeams! Just wait till winter!

Then your scrawny little butts are mine!

Ah, nothing like a nice, warming winter squirrel stew.

But finally, things settle down, and there's nothing better than a good book into the wee hours to help settle a teddy babe vampire guard's nerves and send her off to a well-deserved sleep...

It's a tough job, looking after the cosy cottage, but somebody has to do it! ;)

Vera seems to have settled in well at the cosy cottage. It might be hard work doing the chores but it has to be better than living in that old tree.

An almost domesticated vampire, a mistress of the dark, so great to see Veras settled in and looking good, like Ursa said, it's better than the log.:) Juliet says she admires Veras dress, which I take as a hint :(
The cottage looks to be in a superb location, we're all intrigued at the Pit of where it's located..........

Kat and I are great Vera fans. She's a really nice domestic girl who does a great PR job for her kind. Isn't she lonely one her own, or does her night job keep her busy. Must ask Wulfie to lend her his Grimoire.
Cheers vera, we love you.

Thanks kats012.

Vera seems very happy looking after the cottage. As you can see, she has plenty to keep her occupied, what with the ongoing douglas squirrel situation and bat feeding and all.

She has a good collection of books - and I also keep her stocked with dvds and videos (from local thrift stores and Amazon "region 1" bargains), which we watch together - and also Lily, when it's rom-com/comedy night... although Lily seems to enjoy the Dexter series too, for some reason.

It's true tho, Vera is a very placid creature, and only gets excited when there's a full moon - but I put her outside in a deckchair and let her bathe in the moonbeams, and this tends to settle her down. :)

Vera seems a lot nicer than Vicalyn. Wanna swap?

I can send her ready boxed as long as the postie comes during the day.

Vera has got to be the un-scariest cutest vamp of them all. Great to see her looking so contented. Looks like the cottage is in a beautiful location too.

Even Buffy likes Vera. As long as Vera stays somewhat domesticated, she is no threat to man kind.
Those Douglas squirrels certainly can be annoying, but I am surprised she isn't also having troubles with Racoons crapping on the wood pile. If Vera is gonna make stew out of those Pesky little squirrels, One of them should be about the right size to make a fur coat for Lilly.:D

How refreshing -- Vera does indeed seem to be a "kinder, gentler" vampire babe, responsible and trustworthy. This is good! Come to think of it, I imagine Valerica is much the same as well. I'd say "Bless!", but they might have an involuntary bad reaction to that...

P.S. Vera looks pretty cool in sunglasses.
