We have added the ability to embed YouTube videos directly into your posts.

Like this

When composing a post you will see a new button along with the other formatting buttons above the message editing box. This wraps the correct code around the YouTube link for you.

The Youtube link that you need is the short bit at the end of the URL after the =, as shown in red below.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ORIRmLgV9-c
or
http://youtu.be/ORIRmLgV9-c

Copy and paste this piece into your post as below.

ORIRmLgV9-c

Now highlight the text and then press the new youtube button, this will result in your entry looking like this.

ORIRmLgV9-c

You can also just type the brackets yourself and then insert the link between them.

If you got that right, this -> ORIRmLgV9-c

Will become this when you preview or post it.

ORIRmLgV9-c

If it does not work, the most likely reason is that you do not have the correct part of the Youtube link between the brackets.

PM me if you are having difficulty and I will try to help you get it working.

Have fun.

Doesn't work on IE9, but works on Firefox. :(

All I can see in the first post, is empty boxes, with blue circles in the corners.

Edit: Ah, it's the tracking protection filter in IE9 that causes it.

Works for me in IE8, IE9 Chrome and Android.

Can you check that you have flash enabled and up-to-date in your IE9.

Ah right, that's because the link displays content from another site (youTube.com.) Just disable it for this site and you should be fine.

It is far better when the video is sat there ready to play than using links, I had a forum once upon a time and it was set like this is now, the only problem was one member posted to a thread with about 15 youtube windows one after the other...links would have been cleaner in that particular instance.:wall
