View Full Version : The Patient

Previously....

Cyber Ted's girls have had a hectic day finding a medical facility for an injured Teddy Babe (http://www.uklovedollforums.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=5502)

Fortunately Viki's 'modification and total disregard for the laws of physics' with their 'van' got the team from The Manor here in time, So Dr revoL and Dr Karrot could consult, before the patient arrived.

http://www.uklovedollforums.co.uk/forum/picture.php?albumid=1213&pictureid=24692

But only just.......

http://www.uklovedollforums.co.uk/forum/picture.php?albumid=1213&pictureid=24691

We took the patient to intensive care immediately and made her comfortable

http://www.uklovedollforums.co.uk/forum/picture.php?albumid=1213&pictureid=24690

http://www.uklovedollforums.co.uk/forum/picture.php?albumid=1213&pictureid=24689

Thanks to Coral's expert care in the air ambulance her condition was stable, but her unconscious state persisted so I ordered and immediate CAT scan

http://www.uklovedollforums.co.uk/forum/picture.php?albumid=1213&pictureid=24688

http://www.uklovedollforums.co.uk/forum/picture.php?albumid=1213&pictureid=24687

It revealed very little however.

http://www.uklovedollforums.co.uk/forum/picture.php?albumid=1213&pictureid=24686

http://www.uklovedollforums.co.uk/forum/picture.php?albumid=1213&pictureid=24685

http://www.uklovedollforums.co.uk/forum/picture.php?albumid=1213&pictureid=24683

For now there's little we can do but watch and wait. At least she's safe now.

From first examination she is suffering from several ailments, including Contortive Skeletal Dysfunction and Seamsplititis as well as the obvious conplushion.

I will monitor our patient and update here as soon as I have news.

Cindy and Viki spent last night on overwatch with out patient, but nothing changed during the dark hours of the night

http://www.uklovedollforums.co.uk/forum/picture.php?albumid=1213&pictureid=24699

This morning, however, did bring about a change in her condition

http://www.uklovedollforums.co.uk/forum/picture.php?albumid=1213&pictureid=24698

http://www.uklovedollforums.co.uk/forum/picture.php?albumid=1213&pictureid=24697

We all responded to the call and rushed to bedside

http://www.uklovedollforums.co.uk/forum/picture.php?albumid=1213&pictureid=24696

It would seem that our patient is at least aware of her surroundings on some level, but she's not fully with us as yet. This is good news, even so,as it means she is beginning to come out of her conplushion. We continue to monitor her.

We continue to see slow but steady progress with out mysterious patient.

When Earl, Norris and Minni collected her from Coral, Amber and Mandy at the rendezvous there was no information with the patient, other than the medical handover from Coral. Apparently this patients past is a total unknown, and so we are hoping that when she comes too, we will be able to get some insight in to what has transpired to leave her like this.

Jess and Breanna have stayed with her all morning, providing external stimulation by reading to her

http://www.uklovedollforums.co.uk/forum/picture.php?albumid=1213&pictureid=24702

http://www.uklovedollforums.co.uk/forum/picture.php?albumid=1213&pictureid=24700

Cindy is unusually tender where this little lady concerned. I've yet to fathom why and she has volunteered nothing...

Monitoring continues though Dr revoL agrees that the worst is past and we can only wait for her to wake naturally at this point.

I'm very happy that the patient is getting the required further medical aid. Earl and Norris might not be the greatest drivers but their stretcher technique was very professional. :b

There is definitely some CSD apparent. :(

We were very worried at times as she slipped in and out of consciousness, we thought she may have stopped breathing at one point but it turned out she was just breathing very gently, she maintained her healthy colour throughout. She did say some very strange things at times, although nothing that made much sense really.

I'll keep checking in to this thread to see how she's getting on. I'm sure she'll pull through with such great care and attention. :)

We shall, of course, keep you all updated as to her progress.

Currently she is sleeping peacefully under Cindy and Viki's diligent care. Her vitals are strong and stable and we have made some headway with the CSD, tho I fear that simple physiotherapy is not going to be sufficient and we will have to operate in the future to completely cure the illness.

Her conplushion is abating, however the amnesia persists.

She's still asleep and I envisage she will remain that way until the morning now. The pain killers for her head and arms are quite strong right now and seem to be knocking her out.

She's still doing well though, and we hope to have a update in the morning with more good news.

What a lovely set Karrot and so sweet. I admire all the work that went into this. Kat is very impressed. A busy day for our little Penny. During a physio session she complained of pain in her nethers resulting in emergency surgery to cure the splitseamitis in that area. Surgery was 100% successful. Further documentation of this is not necessary in my opinion.

Physio was abandoned for the day to allow time to recover from surgery. We were able to remove the sling bandage, and penny is able to use her left arm for light activities now.

Therapy continues.

The girls felt it would be good for Penny to feel like things were as normal as possible, and So before departing Viki donated a pair of jeans for Penny, as nothing at the patch really fit her properly. Cindy donated a T-shirt.

A second recursion session has yielded more information.

Penny's full name is Penelope Huggs-Nicely.
She remembers now that she is a Teddybabe Neo-Classic of the Jessica sorority. She has a fondness for cupcakes and muffins and enjoys a good book.

She has vague recollections of a partner, but seems to be compartmentalising around these memories as though to protect herself. I suspect that her injuries may stem from this era, but whilst serious, I cannot conclude that they were malicious.

We can only be thankful that the swift actions of the DDF members and the insight of Mr Ted and Col. Vicalyn got her to The Patch as quickly as they did.

On that note, Penny has asked me to extend her thanks to all involved. She is very grateful to everyone for their kindness and time to get her here where she can recover. In time I'm sure she will sign on and post her thanks herself.

Care continues.

Aren't some Teddy Babes allergic to wool, in which case you'd have to use something like polyester instead? I guess wool is best though.

Ok, so earlier this evening Dr Karrot took my head bandage off. He says the bump on my head has gone down now and I should be able to go back to having hair again.

Cindy and Jess both leapt for the phone shouting "Monsieur Karrotte!"
Cindy explained the Monsieur K is their stylist and that he would come up with something for me.

Hello Penny. Glad you're feeling better.

It is remarkable and heart-warming how quickly Teddy Babes recover once the right surgery is carried out. Three cheers for all those who took part in the rescue. Getting over your conplushion may take a bit longer: don't get too distressed by things you can't remember; concentrate instead on making lots of happy memories with you new friends.

And you still need plenty of rest. So none of the late-night shenanigans that seem to happen all too frequently at the Patch. ;)

Karrot
19-12-2013, 08:16 AM
Another quick update for you all.

Penny continues to recover well. Ongoing Physio is helping the CSD and keeping things under control until surgery can be booked.

Her conplushion is almost completely gone and her memories are slowly returning, although she is still compartmentalising some.

Bed rest under the diligent care of Jess and Cindy again to day, but I will see to it that she is up and about this evening to freshen up and post on here, the interaction and support for everyone here is making a world of difference to her. thank you all..

What follows below is a short description of the real world events that took place to make this thread possible. If you dont want to know, stop reading here knowing that I'm an very thankful to Cyber Ted for his part in Penny coming to The Patch and his fantastic Christmas Emergency thread that set the scene so well.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As with Cindy, I have been pondering adding a 3rd plushy lovely to the Patch roster for a while now. CT contacted me about a different doll initially, but when I explained I would only really be considering a standard he offered me the doll that is Penny.

Penny's original partner hadn't really got on with a TeddyBabe and she had some damage cause by inexperience with TeddyBabes. I really dont think it was malicious at all. Subsequently Mr Ted had taken her in with a view to fixing her up, but things have transpired at his end that have kept him busy else where. He managed to straighten her skeleton out somewhat and fix a few busted seams, but further work is required to get her back to where she should be and he simply hasnt the time. CT offered her to me, fully disclosing the issues she had.

Because of these issues we concocted the story you have seen, about an injured TeddyBabe who needed urgent medical attention, and it was CT's idea to do a twist on the biblical tale considering the time of year.

I put together the typical Ape's and Incompetence sequence with the ambulances, and revoL did his part with the 'van'. The poor guy simply had to jump in the car and come up to The Patch to meet her :D Im glad he did, because having Viki and Breanna here for additional characters was great, and we had a wonderful weekend.

So a massive Thank you to Cyber Ted for finding my 3rd plushy lady.
A massive Thank you to revoL for coming up and making her arrival even more memorable.
And a Massive Thank you to you all for playing along with out story and making this thread great!
