Rd3 stands may work. :o

MECHADOLLS are rare, i'm not sure you ll find a dedicated stand.

There's a few DIY stands, you can pick some ideas. :D

Samurai used one of Bobs adjustable stands when he had his MD, it extends high enough for the head mount of the MD.

Sam's photos:

I made my own with a hand winch because I'm a welder and didn't want to break my back lifting a 48kg doll.
http://www.ourdollcommunity.com/gallery/albums/userpics/DSC01549.JPG

An American MD owner made his own stand from screw together pipe with a winch, unfortunately his photos are gone but it was similar to those pipe stands in this ODC topic: http://ourdollcommunity.com/forum/index.php?topic=1377.0

Oh gawd...:21

Well that one I've adapted since with a bum cushion and also added some metal at the back of the base because unloaded (no doll hanging off it) the stand tended to fall backwards if jogged.

The stand in the photo was made from 304L stainless steel and TIG welded and it took me a hell of a lot of time and money to manufacture, to reproduce it would be expensive.

Here's my proposal:
I could make you a stand exactly the same but out of steel tubing which means I can MIG weld it which is quicker and more economical. I would have to paint it to prevent rust though.
I can order in the same ribbon hand winch from Ebay and it will bolt onto the stand and work just the same.

If you're really interested send me a PM and I'll do some maths and work out a figure. I don't mind helping you out at all but I would need a deposit because of having to order in certain stuff.

Ok myself and needadreamgirl have come to an arrangement and I'm pleased to say I'll be building a similar stand to the one I built years ago for my MD Izzy, but it will be made from steel and the main section will fold in half for easier storage.

I'm going to post progress pics here so needadreamgirl can see how its coming along. :D

Your welcome needadreamgirl I know what its like lifting a heavy doll.:D

The base is pretty much done, its exactly the same dimensions as my original and here you can see the 2 X extra bits at the back (without them added and without a doll attached the winch weight made it a bit back heavy so this fixes the problem).

This is the top of the base so far:
http://www.ourdollcommunity.com/gallery/albums/userpics/IMG_20170721_154206%5B1%5D.jpg

I had a thought that if you use this on a concrete floor or other hard surface outside say for photos.. the paint will get scratched off and it could end up going rusty on the underneath.

So to prevent that I came up with welding some sections of stainless steel sheet to the bottom, that way if they do get scuffed it doesn't matter and they won't go rusty.;)

The red arrows point to the stainless steel sections on the underside of the base.
http://www.ourdollcommunity.com/gallery/albums/userpics/IMG_20170721_154140%5B1%5D.jpg

That's the first bit anyway, I'm waiting on the winch to arrive some time next week and then I'll start the top half of the stand.

I've got all the paint so I'll be spraying it with a 2K primer and 2K matt black when the fabrication is all done. It looks like poop at the moment but trust me once painted it will look super. :tu

Still got a lot to do.

Ok for needadreamgirl some updates with photos and assembly instructions.
The finishing and painting is still yet to be done so don't worry about what it looks like at the moment.

Fabrication is complete, I must say this was a major headache to work everything out with it having a folding top half but never the less it has worked out nicely.

Here is the folding top half of the stand:
http://www.ourdollcommunity.com/gallery/albums/userpics/DSC03360.JPG

http://www.ourdollcommunity.com/gallery/albums/userpics/DSC03361.JPG

The folding top half bolts to the base with 4 M8 bolts like so, you will need a 13mm combination spanner:
http://www.ourdollcommunity.com/gallery/albums/userpics/DSC03364.JPG

http://www.ourdollcommunity.com/gallery/albums/userpics/DSC03369.JPG

http://www.ourdollcommunity.com/gallery/albums/userpics/DSC03370.JPG

FlashGordoll
26-07-2017, 05:26 PM
Next step:

Swivel the top upwards so it rests shut (BE CAREFUL NOT TO TRAP YOUR FINGERS!)

http://www.ourdollcommunity.com/gallery/albums/userpics/DSC03366.JPG

2 M8 bolts secure it at the front (13mm spanner):
http://www.ourdollcommunity.com/gallery/albums/userpics/DSC03367.JPG

http://www.ourdollcommunity.com/gallery/albums/userpics/DSC03368.JPG

Next step is to mount the winch. I've spot welded the 3 mounting bolts to the winch mounting plate to make it easy for you to slide the 3 bolts through the mounting holes on the stand.

http://www.ourdollcommunity.com/gallery/albums/userpics/DSC03371.JPG

http://www.ourdollcommunity.com/gallery/albums/userpics/DSC03372.JPG

From the rear of the stand, guide the long bottom bolt through first and then guide the two shorter top bolts through.
http://www.ourdollcommunity.com/gallery/albums/userpics/DSC03373.JPG

http://www.ourdollcommunity.com/gallery/albums/userpics/DSC03374.JPG

Then you can do the nuts up (13mm spanner), the bottom winch mount nut will be incorporated into the bum pad which I have yet to make.

http://www.ourdollcommunity.com/gallery/albums/userpics/DSC03375.JPG

FlashGordoll
26-07-2017, 05:42 PM
Next step.

Set the winch to unwind and wind the handle anti clockwise while pulling the hook end of the winch.

It should go through this gap:
http://www.ourdollcommunity.com/gallery/albums/userpics/DSC03383.JPG

I was in a rush and forgot to do that not that it matters much..

Next step.
Keep unwinding the strap whilst pulling it and get enough slack so you can thread the hook through the top section of the stand:

The round bar is stainless steel that the strap runs on, so it doesn't go rusty from wear.
http://www.ourdollcommunity.com/gallery/albums/userpics/DSC03376.JPG

http://www.ourdollcommunity.com/gallery/albums/userpics/DSC03377.JPG

This is testing to a lot more weight than any doll weighs.
Its lifting just shy of 60KG easy peezy, its solid as a rock. I've even pulled myself up it and I'm 14 stone.
http://www.ourdollcommunity.com/gallery/albums/userpics/DSC03378.JPG

http://www.ourdollcommunity.com/gallery/albums/userpics/DSC03379.JPG

Remember... NOT FOR LIFTING HUMANS.:21

So that's fabrication and testing complete, it was a lot of work.. I'm knackered.

Thank you needadreamgirl.:tu There was a lot more to it than meets the eye, quite a challenge but it got there in the end.

One thing you will need to consider is the handle for the winch is quite long, so when you winch your doll up you'll need to get your hand on her bottom and gently swing her bum out of the way (side ways is best) enough to avoid the handle when turning it. Its pretty easy to do with one arm, it will make sense when you get it and use it. Obviously the handle can be positioned at the back of the stand when you have her winched to the correct height and then its not in the way anymore.

I have some other pending jobs to catch up with this week so it might be another 7 - 10 days before the stand is prepped and painted and ready to go, unfortunately I got to clear those jobs before painting coz the 2K paint is pretty nasty stuff and tends to coat everything in my workshop. If you don't know 2K is an epoxy based paint and very durable.

:D

The great thing about this is you can turn the doll 180° so her front is facing the stand which makes pulling knickers over the bum very easy.;) needadreamgirl will find it very easy to dress his doll when its done.:tu

Thanks Harley.;)

Finished your stand Needadreamgirl.:tu

I underestimated this one, must be over 3 days of work all in.. If I made these for a living I would have to charge 2.5 times the cost of what I've made it for otherwise I'd go bankrupt quickly. As long as it helps you I'm still pleased to have made it.

Anyways, enough moaning for today. Its all done, paint has dried off and it don't look half bad.

One thing to watch out for:
Be mindful of the hinge. Its strong but please be careful not to let the two sections twist sideways because if it did twist there is a chance it could break the hinge.
http://www.ourdollcommunity.com/gallery/albums/userpics/DSC03392.JPG

Butt pad made, the 10mm s/steel nut was TIG welded to a bit of s/steel plate which is screwed into a bit of ply wood, a double layer of seat foam/sponge was glued onto the ply and to finish off I just stapled a section of cotton over to finish it.

http://www.ourdollcommunity.com/gallery/albums/userpics/DSC03384.JPG

The butt pad nut serves as the lower winch mount nut.
http://www.ourdollcommunity.com/gallery/albums/userpics/DSC03385.JPG

There's just enough room for the winch handle to swing past.
http://www.ourdollcommunity.com/gallery/albums/userpics/DSC03386.JPG

In the testing pics I forgot to thread the strap through the bars of this winch, in these pics its in the correct position.

I'm well pleased how it came out and its mega strong so Needadreamgirl's Mrs Mechadoll will be safe.:D Due to be picked up today and head up to needadreamgirl providing the courier turns up..

Saxen I wish you luck when you build your own, it doesn't matter what it looks like as long as the structure can support your dolls weight easily, always best to over strengthen the structure than be on the limit. :tu

Needadreamgirl wanted me to post these photos of his very lovely Sin lady using the stand that he received today.:D

One hiccup is that the butt pad is too low which is a bummer butt should be an easy fix to make for needadreamgirl.

Cheers needadreamgirl, glad you are getting along fine with the stand and finding it easy to use and assemble. Your MD head mount is on its way in the post so hopefully we will see your MD doing some standing up pics very soon, just hope the bracket fits.:tu

You'll need to thank Izzy as well because it was her that gave me the plans years ago for the E.I.C (Easy Izzy Crane) which your stand was based on.

She told me what she wanted and inspired me to build something that could easily handle her weight and save my back at the same time, soon after the E.I.C was born.

It was originally intended for dressing and undressing, but also worked out great for standing up shots.

Izzy certainly enjoys using it.

My AD girls also enjoys using it and if you get used to a photo editor such as Gimp you can digitally eliminate the stand from the photo.

I recently received my Mechadoll and built my stand using iron pipe.. Which can be easily found at any hardware store..
Its a pretty simple design.. And much like the Camp stand.. But taller and modified for a Mechadoll, Doll Sweet or TPE..
It was very easy to build...

Thanks for the heads up CG!! I'll definitely keep an eye on it.. Fortunatly I never had that prodlem happen to any of the stands I've built over the last 4 years..
