RealDoll - Importing into UK

Has anyone ever had any experience of importing a RealDoll into the UK and also with shipping and in particular customs handling dealt with. There used to be a UK agent but they no longer exist.

Any help and advice would be most welcome.

philinotstine 25-11-2018 06:35 PM

I had no problem with them and that was to the Channel Islands although it was 7 years ago.

try gummipuppen.de before brexit

Everhard 26-11-2018 07:22 PM

I find that I have to nominate an import agent who clears it through customs and also arranges to deliver it from the airport to your door. They collect the VAT from you and they charge a small fee (quite reasonable in my experience). The only problem I found once or twice is I have to contact the import agent and tell them I am expecting the doll. You cannot rely on them contacting you when she arrives. I had one doll sitting in their warehouse for a week while I was expecting them to contact me.

I don't know why Abyss Creations cannot arrange it all like the manufacturers in Japan do.

Wulfie 26-11-2018 07:45 PM

It might be worth trying one of the UK Vendors on here just in case they have a connection or are planning to take on Abyss creations.

Just out of curiosity which one are you looking to import.

Who is the German reseller?

Congratulations on getting a Realdoll. I can't help you on importing since I live in the USA, but Abyss has come along way with the quality, and details of their dolls.

Here are two old Body 5's on left, compared with a new Body F (the replacement for the B,5) Also the next doll is a Body B next to a Body 2 (the B,B replacement for the B,2)

Hi ,
I bought my realdoll through Realdoll France last year but still had to pay taxes and import duties etc and it came to about £800+ I think. Quite unexpected and a hefty bill. (Presumably RealDoll France were passing on their import costs to me) At least it was done by Seko logistics, so all the admin was done for me, (good communication) so the delivery was pretty trouble free.
All a pretty steep learning curve...
From now on though, I'll just purchase thru UK vendors who quote prices upfront

ginastiqbm1 20-07-2019 02:25 PM

Hello I am sorry if my note was misleading, when I bought it was a couple of years ago and was from Germany and it was other company at the time.
I think you should report that issue with taxes to realdoll.com,
they probably dropshipped to you from US and in that case you you could have bought directly from US without a third party.
Maybe they will set up a UK dealer since it is a large market.

needadreamgirl 21-07-2019 08:52 AM

Contact Graham at Lovedolluk, I was going to buy a Realdoll I contacted Graham and he was willing to handle the shipping for me for a small fee. Hope you get your lady over the pond soon

Thanks for the reply I was looking at Willow 2 https://www.realdoll.com/product/willow-2-0/
The proportions seem perfect but importing not practical. Instead my fist doll will be WM Rosie Liegh which is now on the way https://siliconelovers.com/collectio...-b-rosie-leigh.

God damn it man, those are excellent choices :drool

I don't follow Realdolls and it's rare I ever go on their website, I honestly don't like many of their faces, there is a few that I think are alright, although, when paying that sort money with import duty and tax on top they really need to blow my bloody socks off and many just don't.

So, it looks like I will be popping on and off the Realdoll site more frequently that Willow's an absolute stunner :drool

:D She's gorgeous.

Without getting into the remain/leave EU debate; does anyone have updated importing information to hand for getting a RealDoll into the uK?

algaeholics 17-01-2021 08:11 PM

I can't see how the EU has anything to to with imports direct from the US...

Tommo10 18-01-2021 10:51 PM

From what I believe, this is only information I have read here and there, been told over the times and put two and two together in my own little mind.
Let's talk price first of all, Willow 2.0 posted above for example is $6500 they have a promotion at the moment if you don't change her options there is a $1000 discount, that just happens to work for me, That discount will possibly cover her shipping costs to a UK collection port, then I believe there will be 26% tax and duty on top of that. £4785 +26% = £6029,. Honestly I don't normally bother with all that rubbish, I am sure there will be some hidden money transfer fees, so in my little mind, when I am on he Realdoll site, which is quite often recently, :o I just takes the original $6500 including shipping and turns it into £6500 if I get any change it will go towards the next bit.

Taken from the RD website...
Quote:

International shipping is not door to door, but to the closest customs clearing office to your home (typically the nearest international airport.) Once the crate arrives you will be contacted by the customs agent to claim your crate. You will need to clear the crate through customs and pay any import taxes and duties as well as transportation from customs to your home. If you are not familiar with the customs procedures you may need an agent/broker to assist you. Our shipping company would be happy to put you in touch with an agent/broker if requested.
Now I will need a agent or broker, I haven't got a clue what that will cost, although I thought £500 will do it..

In my mind I am at £7000, that is a silly amount of money for a doll, and way, way out of my league, in 2002 I walked into the Ford car showroom and order a brand new Ford Fiesta in a end of model promotion sale and it was only £250 more, and she's not even dressed yet. Saying that, my car was worth naff all when I traded it in 5 years later and no matter how much I stared into them headlights they didn't arouse my attention at all. Thinking of it that way £7k doesn't sound that bad.

PDutus 19-01-2021 03:20 AM

Oh dear... I do the same sort of calculations myself. At the moment I am trying to justify a XYcolo with organic silicone, which I would be ordering direct from Monica.

I occasionally go on the Real Doll site, but to date I have been saved by the fact that the majority of the heads don’t do it for me. But there is one African American one that ticks a dangerous number of boxes...

Then there is Willow: I can see why you are tempted...
