Has anyone here bought one recently?

This manufacturer has a bad reputation. I'm curious. When was the last time anyone here bought a new doll from them?

algaeholics 23-12-2020 09:24 AM

Eesh, certainly nobody on this forum has received a new one whilst I've been around that I know of.

So that's at least 2016.

Karrot 23-12-2020 10:14 AM

People who ordered in 2016 are now part way through their wait time. For an unspecified value of "Part" and "Time"

my advice, Spend your money elsewhere

Interesting question from someone who had got a place in the sinthetics queue for sale here until recently, then popped and tried their luck over on ODC..... why ask?

As I said, curiosity. Sinthetics (and mechadoll) were two of the major options for full-size silicone dolls 'way back when' I was buying my first dolls. Both had bad reputations BUT there's no current information about them that I can see on any English-language forum. I wonder if recent buyers are still having problems.

FWIW, my order is still for sale. But the moderators do not want it advertised here.

I too noticed that Mr. T!

Perhaps he is hoping we can give more information about production times than Synthetics are willing to give...

I ordered one in 2012 and received her in 2013, she is in this Sinthetics Forum section - Julie, she is also on the Sinthetics website under Alicia 1B

Yes, they have a certain "rep" but I have not heard about them in ages though.

I don't understand why Sinthetics don't just give you your money back. I can understand them holding the order for YOU, that's good business sense. But they know you no longer want it. If they have such a long order book and they're operating at peak capacity then they're making all the money they want to (or are able to), and more recent orders than yours are going to be higher priced therefore more profitable, so it's in their interest to free up that slot for better profit.

To answer your implied question, they don't because they don't have to. The cost of a legal action on my part to get my money is more than the amount to recover ($2000). In the meantime, I follow 'other' English language forums (fora?). Based on what I see, Sinthetics' business is moribund and, even if they wanted to give me a refund, it is doubtful they have the cash flow to do so.

mission 12-01-2022 03:43 PM

Begs the obvious question then.

I doubt it would cost $2000 to threaten them with such action... Maybe worth a punt?

I believe that in America the cost of a small claim between $1500 and $5000 is $50 ($30 if below $1500).

Karrot 12-01-2022 06:55 PM

I could be wrong but I dont think Sinthetics are(were) in a country where western legal wranglings matter very much to them.....

Hiya matey,

I stand to be corrected but their contact details are in Los Angeles.

They refer to themselves as an artists studio making bespoke creations rather than a fatory.

Mechadoll was never in Russia. First USA, then France, then back to USA and after that I lost trace.

I did think that it was just Anatomical that was Russian but I'm not a Silicone bod so after rolling the dice once thought right, end on a win and duck my head back below the parapet :D

OP, here. I started the topic because I was (and am) curious to keep track of the extent to which Sinthetics was (still) shipping product. The recent revival of the topic has drifted from that. I can point out that:

- 'Sinthetics' is a DBA (Doing Business As) name for a series of distinct companies (with much of the same operating staff and product). The business and financial obligations of the successor companies would be expected to be either expensive or impossible to prove in court to a judge.

- Mechadoll is a separate DBA for a different (full size silicone doll) product with a 'checkered' history of location and ownership changes.

- Anatomical is a third DBA for a defunct full size silicone doll manufacturer which was based in Russia. The owner/designer of Anatomical was known in the doll community as Oleg. Oleg was reported as deceased several years ago at which time the company ceased to exist.

Haremlover 13-01-2022 08:16 PM

Those fortunate enough to have Anatomicals revere them greatly.

Oleg was well respected, deservedly so and a gentleman.

Best wishes

Harem

Unfortunately, a ban deprives people access to helpful information. If I was a newbie who had somehow discovered Sinthetics and TDF was the only forum I knew about, I'd want to be able to see posts about other people's experiences and opinions even if those posts were negative.

Sinthetics is 'who they are'. While their business and service reputation is, at best, 'sketchy', I've got nothing but praise for the appearance of their dolls q.v. Serval's Anya among MANY others.

Hello, I am responding to your comment concerning Mechadoll. After the departure of the creator of Mechadoll, the co-owner created Dreamdoll. Then for the European market, there were 2 brothers who molded a few dolls. Then Dollpark in Germany continued the import sales from the United States, and produce dolls in the Mypartydoll(Leeloo) mold. Now only Mechadoll.USA and Dollpark remain; Dollpark sells other models of silicone dolls. Dreamdoll produces very beautiful models. I have models of each production and I can assure you that they are all superb dolls.

Yves and Thierry? Having been 'around the hobby' for 'a while', I am still fascinated by the history of the various businesses making full-size silicone dolls. With the advent of the (BTW very beautiful) Chinese TPE dolls, Abyss is the ONLY domestic US producer I still feel is 'viable'. And, of course, I'm a huge 4woods bigot.

Not too sure what you mean by this. I had two 4 Woods dolls around 10 years ago. Very pretty but extremely stiff in all the joints.

At around that time I inquired after a Synthetics doll as I thought they were astonishingly beautiful. But the company didn't respond to my inquiries at all so I left it and bought a Private Island Beauty instead. No joints at all as far as I could tell.

Maybe I should have bought an Anatomical Doll as they were also very beautiful.

LOL because this is getting WAY off topic.

I'm a '4woods bigot' because my favorite dolls in my own small harem are 4woods. I have an '07 Neo with a Chris head and my 'go to doll' is a '17 S+ with a Lissa head (same configuration as Fred01's Yurica, but made up to look more mature). If anything, mine are a bit too floppy in the joints.
