Help please with Practice Forum

I see that practice forum has quite a few posts in it, peeps are obviously using it, but how do you save things that you have written, and then retrieve them later for rework or additions, without firing them into public view? They don't just sit there un-used, cluttering the place up?
Thank you in advance.

Hi Jock,

You can use it to practise a post, then if you wish it to be moved on the forum, ask a member of staff to move it onto the site.

It is possibly also full of my shit:o, If members do their sales post incorrectly I dump them in the practise forum and ask the member to correct them and I will move them back into the sales section when corrected, some don't get back to me and they just sit there .

There is also a backstage too, you need a pass and then you can type your full post before asking a member of staff to move it onto the site.

Cheers

Yes, but can I go back in to the previous typed epistle, save it, go back in say a couple of days later, save it again, multiple times? Ideas come sporadically and photos even longer, and at the end of it may never see the light of day.
Obviously you don't want me PM'ing you every time I want in?

short answer, No...

You will have the same time limit that is on main the forum.

I suppose you can copy and paste the old post into a new one and carry on, this is how we end up lots of junk in there.... :21

The backstage theatre you need a pass, I am unsure if there is a time limit within the backstage theatre  I assume not because I thought that was the whole point of it, I will check.

Use Note/WordPad or Office/Similar?

jock001 20-05-2022 09:20 PM

Thanks, but still stuck. I tried notepad to get a .txt file, OK, and tried to attach it to "a test" in the practice forum using the attachment box underneath, but when I review post, nothing shows in top box. So if I posted it, would it show? If so. how do I know where it would appear?

I think Gav was suggesting you write some of your post, then copy it into a text file and save it.

Then you can copy and paste from that text file back into a forum post when you're ready to carry on.

Yes sorry. Write your post put in notepad, save it and then you can go back to it, add some more and save and then when you've finished you can then cut it all and paste it on the forum.
