PMs - wish allowances were more . . .
Hi!
Had a message that my PM space, 200, was full. Deleted three and the missing PM was lost for ever :-( No idea who was trying to contact me or why. Would really appreciate more headroom. Best wishes Harem |

I know, the facility is pitiful. I normally receive 150 to 300 email a day so to have a facility thats only got 200 is a little 1990's. However, that said, the forum is free and Wulfie and CT pay for the space that it uses on the servers so no complaints from me:tu To work around the issue. go through all of your old PM's ticking those that you don't need to look at a lot. At the bottom of the page click download as text from the dropdown, then hit go. I save all my archived messages to their own folder on the C drive. Once you have stored them leave them ticked and then delete them using the same button. Like yourself I'm permanently at capacity as people like to ask questions and don't always like to ask them on the site so I'm forever archiving but, it ensures that I keep the PM's maintained and only keep what I need to. Only issue with that I suppose is that any images would need to be saved away seperately as the save as text doesn't save the images as well. HTH, Shamus. :tu |
I work the same system, that Shamus described, although I have found the more you get the more lazy you get, when I had 100 I was able to keep it well below 80% with each increase I've just kept more and more. Many PM's are multiple conversations back and forth, and why keep all of them when the final will have all the information tagged into it.
I save two copies to my hard drive one is text and the other is a xml file I can read most of them in word. I also find if you copy the text, and paste it in message and send it to yourself then the pictures will show again. Tommo |
