Body freckles, sunburn, and tan lines on silicone doll
Applying freckles, sunburn, and tan lines to a silicone doll
This is Angela, one of the teachers here at Stepford-on-Sea Finishing School for Girls, and she has just returned from an educational cruise in the Mediterranean. (She is a DS Dolls 158 with the Fleur head.) For the freckles, I used moderately thin brown poster paint dabbed on with a large make-up brush, then I dabbed the resulting specks of paint with a finger to flatten and spread them. For the sunburn, I used the same brush (after I dried it) to apply blusher. Normally I apply corn starch powder (Johnson's Baby Powder here in Britain) first, both to make the skin feel smooth and to make the blusher go farther, but I did not do that this time. The result is a more patchy appearance. In addition, to obtain tan lines, I put temporary bra and panties on her before I applied the sunburn. https://www.dollforum.com/forum/down...?id=481597&t=1 Bra and panties as paint and blusher masks She is hanging from a hook screwed into a wooden beam, to which the little DS Dolls S-hook and Ray Rentell's nifty eye-bolt is attached. You can also use the rather bizarre body hanging bracket offered by DS Dolls, but Ray's eye bolt is so much simpler and easier to use. https://www.dollforum.com/forum/down...?id=481598&t=1 :D https://www.dollforum.com/forum/down...?id=481599&t=1 https://www.dollforum.com/forum/down...?id=481600&t=1 "Can't a lady do her body make-up without everyone looking?" Here she is hanging from the DS Dolls through-head hang bracket. https://www.dollforum.com/forum/down...?id=481601&t=1 Spending more time on it would have resulted in a more even appearance. (But who has more time?) https://www.dollforum.com/forum/down...?id=481602&t=1 |
Cracking job! :tu

Looks very realistic.:tu:tu

Well there's inventiveness for you.
Just a thought, doesn't the blushing rub off onto the clothes ? And just in case anyone is interested the eye bolt is 6 mm, easily found on ebay by a search . Glad it turned out to be useful :) |

It takes only moments to swap heads, but it takes a while to fix up her hair. https://www.dollforum.com/forum/down...?id=481773&t=1 The daylight is dull here this weekend, which makes photography difficult. |
Wow, impressive work everhard!

But great work, the tan looks absolutely brilliant :b |
It was way past the postman's time, but it is always possible that a meter reader or someone will turn up!
The postman would not be surprised anyway. First thing he sees when I open the front door is one of my dolls sitting in the corridor looking up from her book and leaning sideways a bit to see past me who is at the door. And, partly obscured by the kitchen door beyond, four doll legs in high heels. Then, if I have remembered to position the kitchen door exactly on a mark I inked on the floor, the mirror hanging on that door shows another doll (Virginia the headmistress) standing in her formal-looking vintage attire. :D |
