River's first photo's

As you know, this was an experiment of using a full size JY Elf head on a 125cm WM body. I think that it worked but what are your impressions? First pic is without any wig to give more of an impression of the head size.

And a quick wig change...

http://www.uklovedollforums.co.uk/fo...ictureid=67798

To be continued.

shamus 10-09-2018 04:32 AM

These ones are very similar with subtle changes of angle or light. I narrowed it down to these from almost 80 pics but its too late at night to continue to compare and contrast so here are the last four for you to decide which you think is better.

Hope that you liked them and concurr that the experiment was actually a success. :D

The plan worked!
And what a great plan. All that research as paid off.
She looks perfect. I think River's head works really well on the smaller body.
Absolutely fantastic matey.

Yep, works fine and seems to avoid all the normal pitfalls of a larger head on a smaller body. :) :tu

Welcome to your new girl. :welcome

Great costume too. :D

Without the wig I would say it is a little oversize, but adding any kind of long wig covers that immediately with the look of her having thick flowing hair.

This looks spot on :D

Guess who booked today off work as they knew that they wouldn't get any sleep last night.... Either because the head proved a failure and I would bekicking myself for spending money on a head that could not be used until I got a new body to go with it... Or because the head worked  What I hadn't bargained on was exactly how long even quite a short photo shoot would take (preaching to the choir on that one aren't I, lol).

There was genuine apprehension as I removed Yvettes head and fitted Rivers not helped by a worrying miniute not being able to match the threads up and thinking sh*t its the wrong size connector.

It took well over an hour just to get her new clothes on (note to self, lace up over knee boots may look great but OMG are they time consuming to lace up.... Sooo many eyelets).

I'm really, really happy with the finished result. And her new lace bracers also go a little way to hiding her bandaged arms which I note in several of the photo's are not the thing that the eye's are immediately drawn to.

In conclusion.... Phew it worked really well.

Thanks for all of the support matey. I would have been a lot more nervous for the last 15 days about what I had done between placing the order and actually putting the head aprehensively onto her shoulders if others had not believed in me. Thankyou :tu

Tommo very suportively pointed out to me off line that it's all in the size of the chin. I was looking for an Elf head and could see the head fitting from the JY publicity photo shoot but I had not put my finger on why some heads fit and others of the same size do not. Tommo pointed out that a pointed chin will work with a smaller body as it creates the illusion of a head more proportionate to the neck.... I had actually already ordered the head when he told me that, so it did an awful lot to appease my apprehension for the past couple of weeks.

On the clothes front I'm going to post links to all of the clothes that I purchased for this shoot if that's ok, as its really, really difficult to find grown up sexy clothes for the 125cm body that work.

Loving her new boots even though they are a real pain to lace up. The hope was that the added riggidity would enable her to stand but unfortunately her back joint will no longer hold position permitting balance so the boots work only from an aesthetic perspective and getting her to stand will take some sort of Teddy Babe type photo shoot type apparatus.

Thanks so much for the compliments, its been a very nervous lead up to last night :tu

Cheers Karrot, my thoughts exactly :D

The head has the strange optical effect that Yvette body seems to have grown to the needs of the head.... Obviously some sort of Elf Wizardry.

The long wig that came with her is the only part that I felt really needs a bigger body (hence the mid shoot quick swap).

Good call on the photo of choice. My personal favorite was this one:

I don't see any problem in posting a link to the clothing.

The girls here have a couple of pairs of long black leather lace ups, however I got them the type that also have a zip up the back, which helps a lot for getting them on, (and off). ;)

As promised. A link to the clothing (All from Amazon so no issue with security of the links). The prices that I show below include postage and packaging. I have no link to any of these seller and include only to help those struggling to clothe WM125's.

Gloves: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
2.07 per hand. One size adjustable via laces. The string does not detatch so quite difficult to slide through the hand but worth the effort once you manage it.

Boots:https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
21.97 UK Size 2.everything else was purchased around these. They fit perfectly. The worry here was that they would be too long but they are actually the perfect length. Only downside is that you need to put them on before putting the laces on and the laces take an age to thread.

Skirt:https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
7.88. It does come wih the laces but I thought that it looked better without in this instance. The material is EXACTLY the same material / colour as the boots although they are nothing to do with each other.

Top: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
2.79 Size small. this is a peice of lace material that you tie at the neck and back. It works. There are also nickers with it so quite a bargain rice.

There was also the Corset worn by Yvette the other day that really works as a sexy mini dress:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
16.99 size xx-small. When you get it retie the back so that the lace threads through the eyelets in a line rather than the usual latice tie at the back of a corset. This takes it down by about another inch which makes a good fit.

Only part of the jewelry ordered arrived in time for the first shoot. This set is cheap for 15 chokers allowing you to add or remove items to the size of neck.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Price 6.49.

Hope that helps someone find the right size clothes for their 125's.

kindest regards,

Shamus.

Cheers CT. The advice on the boots is definitely noted for next time I purchase anthing like this as these are so difficult to get on and off I half considered them becoming a permanent feature once on! lol.

carlys_guy 10-09-2018 02:51 PM

the head looks good on her now you need to get another body so they don't have to share. ted is right about the zippers see if you can get a clothing alteration place to put some in, maybe a shoe repair place if there is one near you.

I think I'd go for number 4 if pushed:

All of the pics are good though. River looks very comfortable with her body and vice versa, so most definitely a success - great outfit too. :tu

Very Cute.

Don't think she looks disproportionate at all and if one didn't know, one wouldn't notice. You've only got to look at any crowd to see the huge range of shapes and sizes. Anyway, she's an elf so who knows how they are?
But she is really cute and she looks very happy and lovable. Well done.

Cheers CG... I learnt a long time ago that CT is always right, lol. I will see what can be done as they are the first sexy boots that I've found that actually fit the 125's legs properly. Last time I bought her some size 2's the shoe fitted but the length of the boot was way to long (basically right to the top of the legs).
I agree on the needing another body... but they come with more gorgeous heads so I'm going to end up with a house like Tommo's (I should be so lucky).
All the best,
Shamus.

Cheers matey,

Must admit that the bulk of the accessories (wooden shortsword, long sword, spear, bow, helmet and chainmail balaclava (only the two swords shown in the attached pics) ) are all my sons from when he was much younger. The bulk coming from a day trip to warwick castle.
The rest of the accessories should may an appearance in future shoots. Which may not be until I get a better camera as there were sooo many grainy shots again this time. I may dig out the old olympus again as that always used to take a good photo (just an Olympus trip, nothing fancy but it's a great little point and click).

All the best,

Shamus.

Many thanks Svevo. I think a good call on the pic. Now that I'm awake probably that one and the one directly before it are the two that should have made the cut. I was just too knackered by that stage. As detailed in a reply to Tommo I actually ended up closing my eye's for just two mins and then jumping up hours later panicking that I had not taken her clothes off so feared staining (all good, no stains).

All the best,

Shamus.

Excellent result and she is well dishy. Agree with all previous comments and add that for me the shorter wig suits her far better than the long one. Congrats and :b

Cheers Kats,

I actually woke up from my impromptu mid photoshoot slumber spooning with her... That never happens with TPE... Thats Kates territory.

I've poured over the pics (there are actually a couple of hundred) and in none of them does the head look disproportionate. Even without the wig on it's not too bad. So with much relief the experiment has proven that in possibly very limited instances a full size head, provided that it has a thin chin and delicate features can be used with a smaller body.
I'm really, really happy with the result and can't stop kissing her... :D

All the best,

Shamus.

Cheers Wulfie,

I've been thinking for some time that the WM125 is the perfect size for an Elf and when a couple of weeks ago I saw :

http://www.uklovedollforums.co.uk/fo...ictureid=67261

it was a "hold the phone" moment.

In the real world the head is a little different to the professional photo shoot (isn't that always the way), but not in a bad way and I actually think that I prefer the head as it is to the sales photo's.

All the best,

Shamus.

Cheers Phil,

Concur completely. I've not been able to keep my mits off her.

I agree on the wigs front. The red / ginger wig also suited her but I didn't post any of those photo's as in the photo's I think that it makes her skin look a little too pale.

Hi CG,

I'm already in serious trouble for falling asleep in the bed with River on the night that I took all the pics.
Kate went a whole night not under her beloved duvet (first time in months)... When she returned to her rightful place in the pecking order last night, somebody didn't get any!... Fingers crossed she's simmered down by now... Although I'm not putting money on that. Whilst she gets on fine with Yvette I can confirm that she is really not the sharing type.

The only difference is lighting and makeup, the latter opens up a whole world of possibilities for character change from Galadriel through to Toyah.
