Real Doll do have a wider thigh gap then the TPE girls, but also look at 4Woods and DS very carefully and you'll see similar.

Its more a Silicone vs TPE design aspect as Silicone girls tend to come with inserts, and with Silicone not being as stretchy as TPE the whole area is larger to accommodate the insert
