Subscribing and Emails.

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to make a technical enquiry about how the forum works, since I've been here a month now and still haven't worked out how to get it working correctly...

When I make a thread, I subscribe to it for emails, same with my private messages and occasionally other threads I find interesting. However, I don't receive any emails! My email address is set up, I signed up with it correctly, it says it right there, but I'm not receiving any notifications via email. Even in my junk folder.

The only notifications I seem to be receiving is the tiny box at the top right corner of the site which tells me when I have a new PM.

Is this the same for everyone or am I doing something wrong? I just want to be emailed when someone responds to my threads / messages, goddamnit :24

Thanks for reading :)

No this never works for me as well.

You're not alone.

Also I approve the Archer avatar :tu

Well as long as it's not just me, I feel fine with it xD
Seems that maybe they should invite one of the many programmers on this forum to take care of the issue for them, though :21

And thanks! Thought I needed an avatar finally to make myself more memorable to the other members

How many developers are on here?

Sound off!

I've seen a bunch of comments around this thread referring to programming, AI, etc. I can't remember who exactly was talking about it though... Algaeholics made a huge piece of pseudo code one time which was hilarious. Karrot seems to always jump on the technical threads too with some pretty interesting insights. Tingle has commented on code before, I believe.

And then I program, so, seems like this forum is a pretty common playground for us coders :21

Something something stereotype about nerds and sex dolls... :24

Hmm I'm missing out, I've seen some talks on development, but not much in the way of code, I guess I missed those threads.

I've only seen game developers on here in terms of development, I don't know if anyone does it professionally though.

Would be cool to have this website on github though to allow people to make push requests for fixes and improvements :D

Second reply on this thread by Tingle, these are the kind of jokes I see around the forums :21

Yeah I'm a game developer but still finishing up my degree, finish in about 3 weeks though so hopefully I can crowbar my way into the industry easy enough

Ahaha! Nice thanks for sharing the thread, nice to be around other developers on here.

Best of luck Mondino, it's a tough industry to get into, but I'm sure you'll be fine. :tu

Cheers, North!

I'm sure I'll need all the luck I can get :21
