Shipping a doll

Hello everyone,

I wish to send my Teddy Babe Lisa via a deliver service, my question is, what is the best way to do this, has anyone done this and have any advice?

I need a box or something for Lisa to go in securely, but was wondering where I could get a box that the correct size for her to fit in.

Any help or advice would be very grateful, kinda pulling my hair out over this (and I don't have a lot of hair to pull out these days...)

When i shipped my teddy babe back in dec I used the original box she came in, though it is hard to find a big box unless a doll vendor can help

Firstly and and most importantly don't lose your hair over this, I could send you a box :D

Or you could go down to your nearest recycling centre where there will be loads of cardboard boxes to choses from.

Once you have your box you then need to measure
Lenth
Width
Hight
and weight.

When you have that info and the post code you want to send to, you can use these 2 site's to get a price. (should be around £15-£20) for uk mainland

You can wait at home for courier to collect or drop of at a parcel shop near you.

Hope this helps

I'd say if you know the height/width/length dimensions you might be able to find on line a suitable box.

I don't know if it would be possible with a Teddy Babe, but there are wardrobe boxes that are quite large like this one.

https://www.kitepackaging.co.uk/scp/house-moving-boxes/wardrobe-cartons/.

I don't know if a Teddy Babe can be transported in the foetal position though to get one in a box this size, only an owner can answer this.

It does though look like it will provide a strong tall box and comes as a flat pack.

It's also possible any local storage facility may have this box as well.

My teddy babe arrived lying on her back with her legs bent in a curled shape and that’s how i shipped her to her new owner, i did think about a longer box as I didn’t like the idea of her legs being bent and curled but i hear this is how they ship all teddy babes

Thanks Dan for clearing that up

I did suspect this is how a Teddy Babe might be transported. It then may be possible to get one in these wardrobe shipping boxes for North to dispatch his Teddy Babe.

At 1.2m they might just be tall enough.

as an aside to the actual box, how do people normally send their dolls off? Obviously through couriers and organised via one of the comparison sites like parcel2go. What I mean is do you insure it or not?

I post a lot of stuff that weighs up to about 10kg but is worth several hundred pounds and once the value is added for insurance, then price can be more than double. If you under insure then it's not covered at all as you were dishonest and they have a get out.

if you stuck for a box - maybe Lovehoney UK could 'sell' one ?

alternative tie a luggage label around her wrist and drop her off at the local courrier's :D :21 :24

St

Thank you so much to everyone for your help, all really helpful!

I have managed to get it all sorted, a meet up was made and Lisa has now gone to a new home, you should all see she her now and then on the forum in pictures.

Just a thought though, Is there an existing forum or thread with helpful information like this already out there, I'm probably not the only user that is going to get stuck on this?

Again thank you everyone!
