Theres a thing call the Uncanny Valley, its easy to look up on Google.
In brief it is the feeling of unease when we see something that looks very human acting in a non human way, or conversely something very non-human acting in a very human way Robotic dancers are in there, Dolls are definitely in there, to name a few examples. It sounds like you're encountering this phenomenon, and it's very natural. We all experience it to some degree, but what each person considers as their tipping point as diverse as the valley itself. Armchair psychology lessons aside, as other have said, give it a couple of days. You're loosing nothing at this point to give it some time. If it doesn't happen, it doesn't happen. You wont be the first. I've actually had a doll I didn't bond with and after a week she was gone to a home where she is loved to this day. One small hint to try. Move her eyes so she isnt looking dead ahead. The 1000 yard stare is what makes most dolls look uncanny. Just a little to the left or right is all thats needed K |

I have been thinking all night about this, I need to re-home her. As soon as I have been on the site long enough she will be in the for sale page. But if anyone reading this can give her a home, £400. She cost me £900 2 days ago so bargain for some one but I need her to live with someone else.

I'm guessing that you are now at the stage where you have thought about it for so long that you are unable to see her any other way. Like many here reading this I'm thinking that given time she would grow on you but thats just transposing my own experience of this and everyone is different. Good luck with finding her the right forever home. kindest regards, Shamus. |

You should be able to list her for sale on or after the 19th Sept as you will have the appropriate access by then.
Sit on her for a bit - no rush. |

Sorry to hear this Jackso, but you know yourself best.
If you are set on letting her go, I'd suggest the following. Take some pics of her (one must have a piece of paper with your username and the current date) so that you have some for the "For Sale" thread. Then undress her completely and repack her as she was when she arrived. That way you draw a liner under it for yourself, and you minimise any potential for damage before she moves on. Hope that helps mate K |

Yes I think that’s where my mind is now, thought about it for so long I just need to move her on. I’ll get photos ready tonight, she is packed back up and in her box already so I will get her out.
If anyone wants her feel feee to message, I am in norfolk and off work this week anyway so could even deliver if not too far. I’ll get everything ready to list on the 19th. |
