I get it all the time, its a bloody nuisance. Makes uploading large quantities of pics very time consuming as have to do them one two or sometimes get away with three at a time! Thats on a full blown iMac!
Hurry up and update this software PLEEASSE!
Just alter the pic size slightly and try again. Make sure its .jpg of course.
i am using the same kodk camera i have used for years and the same HP laptop also so strange i am having trouble now. this morning i took a new picture and tried to download it and it was a no go again, so i figured i would try renaming it and it went in just fine.
Yeah, me too. Doesn't say 500 though, just "contact Bob", so its a very old error message.. Tried renaming pic. but still not working. It's first of a sequence of 13 going into my latest album for a story, and all others worked OK. I had a duplicate, now erased, so it was happy with 13. Tried making it last, but still no joy. Going to bed now.
Okay, this is happening regularly now, it is to do with the maximum file size limitation of the forum, the photos that are been upload onto the forum are too big, you can get around it simply by resizing the photo file size down below 900kb, and in most cases that should work, files on modern cameras are massive and on most sites they will need resizing or there is resizing software in place to help. Currently you will need to resize your photos yourself on the UKLDF.
There are actually two different error messages you can get.
This one appears when you try to upload a photo size bigger that the software ever imagined was possible when it was written, you can also get it if you have used an invalided character in your file name.
This is a newer better message, it means the forum software should be able to resize it for you, but unfortunately this feature is no longer supported and doesn't want to do it anymore.
If you get this message, then please resize you photo below 900Kb and try again, I will get your same message emailed to my phone every time it appears on your screen.
You notice my file size was over 1.0GB in the error above and that is too big, the photo was 750x1125 but that size can be upload if the file size is below 900Kb
This is the same photo, I have reduced the size to 733x1100 854kb, so it will work.
you can just keep the size big and reduce the quality down, to get the file size below the 900Kbn,
I just think they are too big and look rubbish, but here is an example mega reduced, this is 1189x1763 281Kb
