Default Thilanthropists be (a) ware

Those out there who are fortunate and generous enough to donate dolls for free or very cheap please do your homework.
There are a few genuine cases who would love a doll but can't afford but there are also unscrupulous people who will bullshit and wheedle there way into being the recipient of generosity.

Check the background of anyone wanting a cheap/free deal.
How many times have they approached previous deals?
Contact those they have contacted and get details.
Check if they have ever posted photos of their dolls.
Filanthropy is to be saluted but please don't give to a selfish.scrounging freebooter?

I hear ya mate.
I have been considering this point myself and it may simply come down to passing her on to someone I know that already loves TB's.

Pete.

Well said Phil.

I'm guessing that you have been bitten yoursself by this?

Years ago I had a similar situation with a computer. Back when PC's used to cost an arm and a leg my business had spare machines in good condition. Someone convinced me to give thenm one of the machines that they needed for their work but could not afford anything like the one's that I had sitting idle.

I gave away a 2k machine convinced me that they were a deserving case in need of the machine more than myself. Within days it was being adveretised for sale!

Needless to say I felt a complete muppet who had been subject to a theft that was my own fault. I have never done anything similar again.

That scenario could be transposed to our girls in that whilst as you indicate there are many who would love and adore them, there are also those who would profit from generosity or mistreat something that comes for free.

I would never part with Kate but if for any reason I downsized and one or both of my TPE beauties had to go, if I were to give them away it would only be to site members of silver and up who have demonstrated long term commitment through years of postings but have themselves perhaps fallen on hard times.

Hi Phil,
Totally agreee with Shamus post, because he is correct in every detail. I have had similar problems over the years, and have given away many thousands of pounds worth of equipment to find it a been old with days for a vast profits

An interesting post!

Given that our dolls require funds to maintain them, perhaps, rather than giving away, you could charge 1/4 (or thereabouts) of what she is worth.

This may discourage the 'freebooters' as they will have an initial outlay and may put them off, whilst ensuring, as much as possible, that the recipient has at least some spare cash to keep her happy and healthy...

I've had, and taken, this opportunity to buy three of my four ladies this way and I am eternally thankful.
