Hi, I am also looking at the Neo/Lucid offerings due to price.
I really like the look of the Mary Jane and Geiko as well as the Julie but due to reasons of privacy I cannot order any of them in case they are delivered whilst my family are home and living in the NorthEast it is too far to travel to Oxford to pick one up. I really hope you find buying easier than I am and will be watching your threads for any info on these dolls. |

I had/have one and it's a very good torso. See: http://www.uklovedollforums.co.uk/fo...ad.php?t=15554 I didn't like the 6Ye, it was like a big lump of jelly, way too jiggly.

That one is a standard T skeleton with good soft TPE. Its a bit oily so needs colflour or Talc on arrival but overall I would go with that one of the options that you suggest. Of the other two. I find 6YE TPE firmer than SM. And those marked Neodoll/Neojoy will be just generic torso's with copy heads (#1). Good thing about the SM torso's is that the heads are the same heads that you buy with full sized girls (with M16 connectors) so when you get attached to her you can buy her a new standy up body and start photographing her ![]() HTH, Shamus. #1 Copy Heads... Do you remember as a child the airfix soldiers that you could get. Looked great didn't they. Then on market stalls you would see figures with the same poses but they were not as detailed. Thats a similar situation between real heads and copies which lack the crisp realism of original top table manufacturer heads. The Neojoys dolls (that word not chosen lightly) are based on Jinsan and JY heads but they are in many ways the market stall toy soldiers comparative to the box of airfix figures. Stick with the SM heads which are from a known manufacturer.

Hiya Mr F,
we crossed in the post (I went off trying to think of an analogy that would explain what the deal is with copy heads) but we came to the same conclusion. Of that selection SM (I refuse to refer to them as Soulmate as they're not) has to be a obvious choice. Interesting that you think that 6YE is too soft. I've got no experience of their torso's but with the full dolls I've found them to be comparatively firm. All the best, Shamus.

I think Lucid have to call them Soulmate as part of their OEM agreement with SM Doll. I imagine they would love to sell them as SM Torsos (like with the Neodoll Racy = Irontech, Neodoll Allure = 6Ye, Neodoll Sugarbabe = JY.) I cannot see a reason to have a different brand name, unless it's the manufacturers dictating terms. Regards the 6Ye, it's definitely not as soft a TPE as the SM. The problem with the 6Ye Torso is the skeleton is non-existent, that's why I didn't get on with it. It really was like a jelly. The SM Torso was superb ![]() Cheers, Mr F

They had a head that I wanted but they were looking for £300 for the head or £350 with a torso... So I bought with the torso then sold that on (still a virgin) and kept the head ![]() Must admit to being quite impressed with the quality of the torso. They're really not my thing but if they were then that one is definitely a sound choice... Hang on a sec. Think that I've still got the for sale photo's somwhere which might help Jason out a bit more. Yep, here we go. Amelia holding the torso to show the actual size of it is full doll torso size. ![]() And a few different angle shots.... Sorry about the lighting. I actually bought a couple of soft boxes with the money that I got for the torso ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Shamus
