Totally The personality of a doll develops and it's all in the head, eyes etc. If the body became damaged you can switch it for a new body (which I'm in the process of doing for one of mine), but if the head is fixed and you have to eventually say goodbye because the body is in such a poor state it would be unbearable.

I reckon Adam has the skills required to perform a successful head transplant from something like a Piper to a standard M16 fitment.
