Default Skin abrasion

Emma has this abrasion on one of her feet. Its like a rough graze with 2 small tears. Its aleays been there but it seems to be getting worse. Looking for suggestions on a way to repair.. Ive heard about using soldering irons.. I do have one but im a bit nervous about using it on emma for the first time. TIA

avoid soldering irons.

The weapon of choice is a hot air gun but you need one that can you all the way down to about 50 degrees as there isn't a lot between a fix and a pink puddle!

Worth noting that the TPE will hold and build up the heat used on it so avoid any prolonged direct heat.

Tommo uses a temperature guage along with his heat gun. Might be a good idea to look up some of his fix threads before starting.

Some people on here use a hot spoon to smooth TPE. Ecobods Vicky recently had a fall and he fixed her without issue using the hot spoon approach. This is the thread:

Also, Tommo took on a complete basket case and fixed her up so again, look at Tommos repair threads.

Looking at the angle of it you may find it better to use the rounded end of the spoon rather than the spoon bit itself for the fix.

Just remains to say, its nothing to worry about and she'll be fine.

All the best,

Shamus.

Bit late here, busy week, this is my repair thread, starts with Gemma then towards the end Holly is more indepth

http://www.uklovedollforums.co.uk/fo...ad.php?t=11935

Firstly I would buy a tpe insert, from here
https://www.the-doll-house.com/repai...d720eece4b3083

Make some scratches, cuts whatever in that and practice with the back of a hot spoon repairing it, when you have mastered it then perhaps move onto your doll.

The repair is pretty easy but for a first repair it isn't in the easiest of places, I find toes and fingers are a little more difficult, you need to make sure the toes are pushed well away, you need use the smallest but deep dished spoon you can get.... I can see what might happen here, you want the back on the spoon to seal the TPE without the front edge of the spoon touching the toes, those hot spoon edges will cut like a sharp knife and concave repairs I find a little more tricky.

Wear a mask (like you need to be told that nowadays) !
Keep the area well ventilated against any fumes
