Unhappy 4 woods doll "Kohana" under surgery....

Kohana had her first part of surgery today.

As you might know I bought her with a broken hip and I promised to take care about the problem.

I was kind of afraid of the operation dont to mention of Kohana, but we were sure it is the right thing to do.

I could feel the bone moving inside her leg so I could locate the problem and started to open her leg near her genitofemoral on the inner thight.

The bone was broken near the hip joint. The bone itself is made from plastic (water pipe?) the problem was a way to find the right screws to remove the broken part of her skeleton inside the foam core.

If you need to make such a surgery, I am about to take pictures from her mecanical parts inside to help you. The joints are very strong and a small bolt secures the joint and the leg bone. I was unable to move the broken bone because it was to short so it was in a very unlucky angle for my tools.
The bolts are metric on my doll. 7mm for the bone 13mm for the hip joint and 10mm for the knee joint.

I decided to open her knee on both sides to build access to the knee joint to pull out the bone completley.

All bolts need to be accessible from both sides because they are always secured counterwise.

One picture of the removed bone, I hope to get a new bone in a hardware store next week.

If there is need I will post picture from the openings and cut points and later from the cut and the cure.

I think I need a drink now...

continue next week - wish all the best for Kohana....

Hello Nescio!
Thank you for your support and your message on TDF. It looks like her hip joint is all fine it is just the PVC pipe - the hardware should be fixable, now its all about how good the optical surgery will go on...

Good luck, hope all goes well.

The pics could be really handy for others if they have similar problems. Glad the broken piece is so easy to source.

Thank you all for your support!

I needed to buy a few tools to make the new bone, nothing to complicated a pipe cutter and a drill stand for my dremel so everything suits in my living room.
The new bone is made of alloy and I think stronger than the original.

The old diameter was 22mm and 3mm wall thickness, new is 19mm with 1,5mm thickness - same inner diameter.
