Probably the same process as the UK Border Force did some 14 months ago given that they are operating under the same law.

Stunned to read this!

This is, as has been stated several times before in this thread, a total waste of money, time and effort by the authorities. I have much sympathy for you and hope this ends well. And these are 140cm dolls and above? They donīt even look childlike. This witch hunt has to end, it can potentially ruin innocent lives.

Reading about this tells me that local police here will soon start doing the same, as they seem to follow everything the UK police does when it comes to dolls. They have even put together a task force to "deal with the sex doll problem". I have long feared the police will ring my doorbell at one point, this just moved a lot closer.

Your approach to the whole case and good mood is an example of character IMO and I salute you!

While I sadly cannot help you with the issue at hand itself I would like you to know that I always enjoyed your wonderful illustrated stories and will *cross my fingers* that this gets solved as soon as possible and with the least possible damage.

All the best.

An unprompted e-Mail communication from the officer in charge:

Quote:
There is still potentially some further work to be done with regards to the dolls.
This is encouraging as at least it suggests SOME work had been done.

At least I shouldn't have to pay storage fees unlike the UK vendors who pay customs through the nose for the 'privilege' of having their dolls temporarily seized without good reason...

Is it so difficult?

Given that two of the three are not even imported by me and that their parts are interchangeable, I suspect that they are struggling to work out which of them (or part thereof) was actually imported by me in the first place.

Time will tell. I have an appointment next Monday (4th) and I will update this thread if any further information is gleaned.

Hi Algaeholics,

Let me know if there is anyway I can help you.

My sentiments echo most of the thread, that this is a waste of taxpayers money, and if it can be considered a crime - then surely this is a victim-less crime?
It should be noted that both VAT & Duty had to be paid to commit this crime. So are the government complicit in such a crime?

We may need to consider some civil action against the constabulary involved.
As Harem implied - there must be repercussions to this reckless grandstanding of authoritative power.

Please feel free to use my name, or the business name to the authorities, so they know that you have the full support of a UK business behind you, alongside the community.

Stay resolute - we are with you.

Hi Phil

Our extensive private email thread has gone a long way to assisting my (and the communities) cause. The fact that you sell the same product that I imported similarly supports the case. Graham at LDUK was also selling that same item when I did the import 15 months ago.

The only reason I did the import rather than using a UK vendor was that the exchange rate between GBP and USD was significantly more favourable 15 months ago. So much so that the import duty wasn't too much to take. The government still got their share of the transaction. Since Brexit, the exchange rates now leave a rather bitter taste.

Re: 'Victims'... The following is information for those not in the loop:

The law in question is to prevent the import of 'obscene of indecent' items and thus prevent the UK public from exposure.

In other words, seizure is to protect UK citizens from becoming 'victims' should they see these 'obscene and indecent' items.

The manufacture and distribution of these items is not restricted within the UK (except the prohibition on the use of a postal service and/or licenced premises), therefore, restriction on import does not and cannot protect the UK public. It's akin to preventing the 'PlayBoy' magazine being imported when it's available (I assume) on the shelves of Tesco.

The plot thickens...

Thanks for the support, it is greatly appreciated.
