Just to let you know about using heat for repairs of cuts.

It's the only way to go

I was going to do a standing foot mod on my non standing... I changed
my mind.

But in sealing it back up, I was making the cut worse. I'd pulled the skin down to see if I could reach the knee. Maybe remove the leg and mod a new foot in.
Nope could not reach it. so in putting the skin and foot back in place I'd not quite had it placed proper. and there was stress on seam. so any heat I'd put to it just split it more
Crazy!!
But I got it all fixed, and it wont come apart. see before and after pics.
All fixed with solder iron and hot air.
That white goo is a filler paste made from Xylene.
Standing a non standing doll, even for short periods will damage the feet.

Thanks for the brilliant information RGC

Eventually I will fix Yvettes wrist. Just trying to ensure that when it gets fixedd it stays that way for a long time so threads like this are priceless.

I had that happen to mine too. I pulled the wire out and replaced it with a section of a thick cable tie. It doesn't grip any more but it's not flimsy either. It's kinda in a permanently arched but springy position. It's a small handicap and she has learned to live with it

ok me again. I just posted about a fixed finger but then noticed there were replies about other body parts. My post was about fingers, but I have had trouble with a heel also. That one I never managed to fix and she's now wearing socks.

Yes, My friend RGC is completely a very clever "Doll doctor" yet is underappreciated over here in N.A. on TDF.
We have worked together bouncing off new ideas even crazy out of this world stuff off each other. about repairs, and upgrades, and mods...
He has actually developed a very good heat method and some soldering iron tips and tools, for Lu and TPE in general. Also a TPE paste formulation that actually works without having to spend a lot on it. Also came up with a way to make some nice looking home made eyebrow wigs.
I have tried the TPE xylene paste and it works wonderfully for my needs.
You should see his ball jointed finger idea and concept he built from spare parts lying around the garage! and some thermoplastic pellets...A true Mcgyver there!

But, he has slowed down posting things as it seems/ed it falls on deaf ears and blind eyes.
We share the same philosophy, its mainly in the care and feeding of a doll.
