Default Any ideas on making a Teddy Babe stand up.

I have taken only a handful of photos of Lisa Red, mainly lying in bed in a morning or sitting in a armchair, from the lack of photographic content you would think she is not cared for, although tbh she always gets all my affections were my other girls don't.

I'm slipping off point as usual, so back to the question
I would like to, prop, support or make a stand for Lisa Red so she can stand or appear to be standing. I have seen a number of photos on here where some sort of magic happens and a wonderful photo is taken with their lovely lady just standing in the middle of the room perfectly. But how do you do it? Or any ideas on making a light weight stand?

Kindest regards
Tommo

Hi Tommo, doing something similar myself, looking at putting some sort of small seat/backrest on an adjustable walking stick the lightweight folding ones, will need to make a hinged bracket of some sort, or if you need something longer/taller a brush or roller pole might work, hth, best of luck,

You sir, need to head to the Inventors' Forum.

There you will find details of Teddy Babe stands, both professional and home-made efforts.

This is Amber on the Gibbmodoll stand.

Blues Sisters

Her original home-made stand is here. Maintenance Stand

revoL made a version from a Camera Tripod

More ideas in the inventors' forum.

Default Kat's Stand

Here's Kat's Stand made from plastic plumbing pipe.
If you stand her in front and arrange clothing carefully you can disguise it.
A belt around the waist usually. I'd make the base bigger.

And here she is.

Hi Tommo,

Kate the domestic godess (that didn't last very long!).

Pure illusion. One leg bent to the chair behind her. One hand grabbing the table as much as the mat. One thigh leaning against the table... Hah, and you thought that you were the only wizard around here with gingers glass trick.

It just takes patience and a lot of failures to get a good shot.

That is absolutely brilliant, I thought Kate was standing.
I'm going to need a bit of a practise with Red over the next few days to be able to master that.
I'm thinking of making a stand like the ones on the posts above above, maybe a job for a rainy day.

Thanks CT and Kats,

That is lots of great information, I will have a look around at what I have lying around and see what I can get my hands on and make something similar.

Tommo
