Impersonation, the best form of flattery? I think not!

Hi Everyone,

You probably might already know we are active on various social media platforms.

We have been made aware of an instagram account that is impersonating us and infringing our registered Trademark.

Our actual instagram is @cloudclimax

The fake account is @cloudclimax_official and let's just say it is definitely not official. It is running a giveaway (very generous, I know!) but it is definitely SPAM and not actually giving anything away.

Anyway, we are in the process of finding out which ****** has done this.

Just one look at their insta profile is a dead giveaway. Dodgy grammar always a weak spot for these scammers for some reason. It’s puzzling that they go to considerable lengths to try and scam people but let themselves down with the pigeon English.

Instagram have taken it down now. It's just irritating why somebody would bother going to those lengths to try and tarnish our good name.

Hi Paul,

sorry that this is happening to you matey.

Have words with Phil as something similar happened to TDH last year where some miscreants were using his details to legitimise their dodgy operation. I think that he contacted them directly and they were quoting his own address at him for contact details! First thought of course is that it might be the same guys.

Hopefully you can get Instagram to close down their account on the grounds of passing off (see Intellectual Property Act (2014) and Trade Marks Act (1994)... Although, doesn't Instagram being part of Facebook come under US regulations?).

Good luck with hunting these miscreants down.

Good news on it being squished by Instagram

Not quite as satisfying as hearing that the police have kicked their doors down and dragged em out by the ears but a result non the less

Passing Off... Any legit business wouldn't even consider doing that. If they're doing anything at all right they'd not have time to do it!

Yes, it has been taken down. But whilst it was up we got info.

I would prefer laser beams and spy-gear to police banging down doors. Ear pulling is allowed though!
