Default 50 Shades of TPE

Please help

As there is not enough room to store/hide every shade of delightful dolly I am currently looking at a light tan/dark tan 156c and a white/pale (not pink) 157b

The trouble is that it is simply impossible to work out which is which for each. Even the main 4 vendors advertise the same doll image with different descriptions for colour (and even body size). I wish they would get a grip. Or at least learn about white balance.

So does anyone have a light tan and dark tan wm they could put in the same photo and/or a white and a pale ditto? Please.

Thank you for your time and care as ever.
Bob

I had the same problem when ordering my first doll but more specifically with the body sizes having different specifications across the various vendors. When I ordered my WM153 she was specified as a WM153C but a month or so later she became a WM153A. The WM156B and WM156C is confusing, one has much larger hips than the other which greatly increases the weight. With the bodies I always work from the bust/waist/hips measurements.

Skin tones, I have a WM in natural and also a tan. I am unsure of the actual tone of the tan body since she was a pre-onwed purchase. It would be pointless me posting pics to compare because depending the lighting, I can make the tan doll look as pale as the natural one. My advise would be to look at factory pics on some of the vendors as they are usually taken under the same lights and it might also say what the skin tone is in the description.

If you want to link the dolls you are looking at, I'm sure some of the more experienced members will be happy to advise.

Hannah is a light tan.

I don't have a dark tan to compare her to though, and I realise pics of her on their own might not mean much :/ all I can say is that she looks a little darker in real life compared to how she looks in pics for the most part.

Hi shybob,

The manufacturers photos that the vendors use on their website are frequently confusing to what tpe tone it is, however recent WM photos list the TPE tone, which is a great help, in all these photos it down to lighting.

I have many photos on this forum with multiple Jinsan dolls in various tones, although I use various simple but affective lighting effects, these don't always represent the true colour tone of the doll.

Tan vs Light Tan

Same tan head against my skin colour

Edit:-might be worth looking at this Jinsan bodies thread by Shamus, there are various dolls tpe tones photographed in that topic, although I do adjust my photos in lightroom.

I'm trying my hardest not to click on that link, I know what happens if I do, I just don't have any money for any more dolls.

So thank you all for the responses, v useful. I’ve picked up a tan head and the colour match to the above head shot is v close. It’s interesting that it looks less dark in th3 flesh as it were. I’ll maybe pickup a light tan to check at some point . It’s a shame the meet is not until sept as I’m sure that’s the only real way to compare

Now, does anyone have a natural and a white gal they can put in the same shot or are we all tan fans?

Personally not a huge fan of tan.

Hang on a sec and I'll see how many we can cover.

I'll try to ind pics that are close to how they look in the real world as sometimes light can make them seen darker or lighter in images.

Give me ten.

Shamus.

Yvette. WM. Light Tan. Vintage 2014

Natasha WM. Pink Body. Light Tan head.

Ooh, here;s one.
Charlotte WM Pink. Natural head Holly SM white with light tan head. Newt, WM Light Tan

Sophie SM White

Another interesting mix with the twins (Charlotte and Georgie).
Sophie. White body, natural head Georgie Light tan bod, tan head

Same heads (WM #185) next to each other which really shows the difference between natural and tan

Another interesting comparison. Sophie (SM White), Yvette (2014 light tan), Natasha (2018 light tan)

Another. Newt (irontech tan (a little more orangy than WM tan), WM light tan head (but quite a lot of makeup)), Angel (YL natural)

The reason that they wear black chokers when I am mixing and matching heads of different skin tones is that within reason it makes the vaiance disappear to the eye and the camera.

I find the most diffiult colour to work with to be pink but my pink girl is an old model and I am assured that like the light tan its a colour that has moved on to become more adaptable now.

HTH,

Shamus.
