Default Smart doll q&a

Hi, sorry if this thread already exists but I thought I'd start a thread for smart doll questions and answers.

Just seen this new one, smart doll centaur, doesn't really appeal to me but she is cute tho.

Anyway I have a question maybe ct or Sam can answer,
I wanna buy the little one a coat and wig which comes to about 130 quid, is there a import tax limit on items from Japan - like I had to pay for fliss?

Am i better off buying/importing the items individually say two imports of 50 quid each or get them both at the same time and have to pay a release fee?

Hope that makes sense

You would be cheaper to get it all at the same time, remember Parcelforce/royal mail handling fees.

Two packages twice the fee.

I buy a lot of my stuff from aliexpress, sure it takes ages to get here (3-6 weeks) but far cheaper, just search for 1'3 scale doll clothes or doll clothes for a 60cm doll.

Sam..

didn't know centaurs had three eyes and shouldn't the human part be the same color as the horse part.

Hi Mr CG,

Yes, the centaur in question suffered some cruel taunts as a child, such as:

"Your mother was a cyclops and your father smelt of elderberries".

But we told Crow to not be nasty to her (then we ran away).

Centaurs colouring has no relationship between the horse and the human parts. Although sometimes they can be the same... I once saw a pure white one.

In later life Squirrel fixed her so Mirai also do a version of her where she has only two eyes.

River.

Getting a BJD has been at the back of my mind. I've occasionally looked for them on ebay and amazon. Never seen a smart doll for sale there, it is usually the EVA branded ones.

Now I found the smart doll site. I thought they'd cost a lot more than what they do, but sweet lord the clothes are how much

Anyway, it looks like I've fallen down another rabbit hole. I totally now have to get one of these at some point. I just can't afford one, I am supposed to be saving for another new WM.

Oh well, its my birthday soon-ish. Will have to see what happens.

seth just think how many smart dolls you can fit in the same space as a wm, and they are easier to move around also.
the smart doll site has some free patterns for clothes if you are good at sewing.

They are all certainly cuties, and save a lot of space, not sure if I could make small clothes, I have trouble enough altering my girls clothes to fit them or become adjustable.
