hi the weight of the lovable dolls are just 65lbs but the hoist can lift up to 80 kg and has a self locking system for the lifting rope but the trolley its self has no break but i find the weight of the doll holds the trolley still as mine is on a level, i guess if needed it would be possible to incorporate a break if needed but one point to note and that is the rail as it needs to be thin ie 2mm it must be made from stainless steel and secured to the ceiling at least every 400mm or 18" on both sides with 2.1/2" no10s screws into the wood beams

I made the rail from two peaces that I had formed for me I made it bend by cutting V-slots and the bent the inner one in and the outer one out and the bonded them together, I have bent mine 90 degrees but the slower the bend the better for the trolley

the pulley block is PETZL MINI TRAXION and a quick search will give you lots of suppliers but here is a link to what i can find to be the cheapest

Has anyone rigged up a hoist to take a doll up into an attic?
