Default Gemma - Question {"Repair holes/tear's in TPE"}

This is Gemma her body arrived yesterday, her head as been with me a while. Gemma's head if I have her name right, (I have name problems: Gemma, Emma , Ella, Elora. )

Shamus bought her for me and I can't ever thank him more for that, She's perfect:

I have been looking for that perfect body for a while now.

Her body is a YL170 and now why am I in the General Thread ?

Well it works like this....

I have bought her broken.....

I have intention of fixing her but I am into my little zone of jump in with both feet Tommo....

I know what I am like this and the repair is happening this week whatever happens, at the moment she is perfect other than a broken arm just above the wrist.

I have spoken to Sam on subject, and he's totally brilliant as he always is . He may change is mind when he sees my photos

My other option is store her totally splinted and undo the arm for photos

But from them that have possibly done major repairs have you any constructive advice?

Sorry everyone please comment.

My brain is telling me to fix her quick, which I know well what I am letting myself in for, anyway I am sure you can work it out .

photos are quick not perfect.

Glued PVC pipe... Either inside or outside the metal bone... Job done.

PS: love the outfit!

The whole post was done with you in mind... Why i didn't just PM you in the bloody first place I don't know

Anyway I was on the steel tube drilled and tapped to take grub screws, and fixed over the break.... then i am thinking need to re-bandage to protect the TPE from the metal that makes it go into a sloppy green glup, but PVC tube is a perfect idea, I will acquire some from work tomorrow

Thanks AH

Tommo

It would have to be in the inside i would think as if it was outside then there would be a problem closing the wound so-to-speak.

I had a 135 cm TPE doll (Rachel) in 2013 her back (spine) snapped aftyer only 1 week and this is what i did to repair it, it did work (for a little while)

I don't think the design will have changed that much over the years so if its the Metal pipe that has snapped then it will probably look something like this :

Repair

Though now that i think about it the plastic pipe i think would have been a better idea and a lot easier to do.

Good job Sam!

As Gemma's operation is on a slim arm, rather than a thick back bone, the PVC might be a better option.

I've included some pics to assist. This is a recent Jinsan wrist skeleton with the palm plate (thanks mandos!).

Is YL a Jinsan...? I'm getting old you know...
