Default Wtf

I was browsing on this site just now when the size of the font and dispays became slightly smaller and most annoyingly everytime I click to a new post or screen I get a pop-up for dating sites appearing bottom middle. It does not happen with other sites so i assume it is some problem with this one. Any Advice?

It's not doing it for me so I suspect you've been somewhere unsafe. CTs the man for this but I've got Norton and AVG, Norton goes soon and AVG which picked up two rootkits will do the bis. AVG is a freebe for a month then limited free after. Maybe worth trying it to cleanse your box without being tied to it.

I do have AVG and have checked it for updates, run a full scan and it has found nothing. Spybot after being checked for updates finds one item Babylon Toolbar which may or may not be the cuase of this problem. Spybot cannot deal with it. All advice says go to uninstall a program but Babylon does not appear in the listing of programs. I have also tried a system restore but the problem still persists. Why does this bottom centre pop-up only appear on this site?

I have right clicked on the pop-up banner then gone into THIS FRAME, and VIEW FRAME INFO

It is an untitled page and has the following address:
http://edge.omnitwig.com/app/categor...llforums.co.uk

The referring URL is:
http://www.uklovedollforums.co.uk/forum/index.php

Having scanned my pc I ask again where the fault is?

Something is changing your URL to cause a re-direct,

http://edge.omnitwig.com/app/categor...=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.uklovedollforums.co.uk

My first guess would be like others have said, a bot or malware maybe.

I'm afraid I have no answers, it does seem to be specific to your pc, the link works perfectly for me and I've had no issues with this site...this is the point where I would be formatting and setting windows up again

You could try a different browser, see if it's browser specific.

Thanks for the advice, Sam. I tried housecall - it claimed to have fixed two problems but no threats found. Condition persists!

It sounds like a browser infection as the others have said Dongo.

Sometimes they link themselves to the addresses of the most visited sites in your browser history.

As Sam says, first thing to do is clean out your browser cache and history. Also check that your bookmark or favourite link has not been changed by the infection. If you are using Vista or Win 7 you will have to switch User Access Control UAC off before starting and make sure you're running with Administrator rights.

I use a combination of programs to clean infected PCs, firstly a run of Spybot S&D with advanced options enabled to let me see into the browser hosts and redirects and to check out the start menu.
Then a run of SuperAntiSpyware which is pretty good at removing things Spybot S&D can't.

These two together with your normal anti-virus program can get rid of most infections.

At work we use a mixture of McAfee, Norton and Trend products, here on my own systems I use Avast because it has a very low system footprint and doesn't get in the way of anything else, including games.

If you are still having probs then post here again with some details of your OS, browser and Anti Virus prog etc.
