Lightbulb Thigh to Calf Ratio

Hello all,

I thought this was a little interesting. It's a graphic entitled:

'16-segmental model of the female human body and the corresponding dimensions [cm]'

It comes from a body of work called: 'Computer and Mathematical Modelling of the Female Human Body: Determination of Mass-inertial Characteristics in Basic Body Positions'

I was actually just looking for thigh to calf ratio but think this is even better.

Back to thigh to calf ratio, in the image we have 47.90:34.60.

I went and measured my WM168A, and she is 42:48 (thigh 42cm, calf 48cm). If we considered that her thigh is the right size, then using the ratio above, her calf drops to 30cm, which would make the WM 168A now a 150A

Food for thought when you're buying "tall" dolls.

Cheers,

Mr F

Why she ain't got no coirves, but it is interesting. I normally use the eight head method that's what I used when I was trying to make my own cloth doll body (still in progress arrested due to busybody-ness)). Chin to nipples (1 head), Nipples to waist, waist to groin, legs four heads. I'll study that however and use it for doll making one cannot have enough data! Thanks

Leg to arm ratio above = 82.5:50.5

WM168A leg to arm ratio = 90:42

If the leg is the correct length, the WM168A's arm really should be 55cm or 13cm longer. Perhaps this explains why I thought the WM168A arms looked too short

PS I still love my WM168A Johanna, just that my mind has been opened to correct proportions for human females.

Yup, many are 'out of proportion' but then so are many breathers. it would be a boring world if they were all the same.

Arms and legs are an easy way for a manufacturer to adjust height and save weight, so this isn't much of a surprise, but it's interesting to see the numbers

Lol. There are no correct proportions a lot of it is conditioning the media and fashion industry tries to condition us that skinny wee beanpoles starving themselves to death on the Atkins diet is the ideal body shape. None of it works on me however as I like short thick women with broad bellies, massive drums, and huge bonanza's.

Totally agree that there are all sorts of proportions in the world, and we love all the different proportions . But there is 'out of proportion' and then there is 'alien proportions'

I really need to buy a nice WM157B for Johanna, then get an alien/elf head and put that on the WM168A. Hmmm... another cocoa elf
