Kate wants to say hello and happy birthday to her 153 sister

Going through this thread I noticed Lynne's wrists look like they are rotated in some pictures, is this right ?

Kate moved in with me a little over 2 years ago, and it was only 6 months ago I found out by accident that her ankles rotate so her feet can point in different directions. But im wondering now if the wrists will rotate also, and if like the ankles ive just been too scared of hurting her to apply enough force to make them move. It would make a huge difference for more natural posing of her hands!

Thanks

All WM wrists rotate but be careful how you do it as I'm sure that many finger wire snaps are down to people attempting to move stiff wrists using the hand.

feel the TPE at the wrist and you should find the joint. Some wrists move easier than others with some that should be left alone even though they are designed to move.

the mechanism itself will be similar to a bottle top thats welded closed so that it turns but does not come off. The finger wires go into one end of this which is crushed down aand the fingers held in place with Epoxy Resin.

Some models have palm plates rather than the wires going directly into the wrist.

As I saw, it will turn but don't try to force it.

kindest regards,

Shamus.

Lynne says thank you, and hi to a fellow 153!

Actually, I didn't realise that the wrists twisted either - one of the guys at the Doll Meet this year showed me. They are very stiff to move, but if you do it right, there's no harm. Best way is to place the hand at a sharp(ish!) angle to the arm, feel for the palm plate, and use that to gently pivot the wrist around. There is resistance, but don't force it if it won't go.
