Cleaning time!

a quick question - would it be worth giving a new TB a coat of 'Scotgaurd' (used to preserve cleaning of sofa's/carpets etc. ) or similar product to assist cleaning in the future ?

Don't know this product.
I have a set of brushes Fairly hard, medium and soft of good quality. These I use to restore the plush, especially if it's got a bit too wet in cleaning and has dried a bit rough. The soft brush I use in maintaining her plush.

If you do this you will be a pioneer in the field. You need to be very careful and apply a small quantity to an area that does not show. Try the soles of the feet or back of head. I don't know this stuff and I would suggest that you need to consider the consequences of it coming into contact with the lips, eyes or eyebrows. My thoughts for what they are worth.

I am not having much luck getting the grey out. I admit I haven't been cleaning Mindy often enough. The oils from my skin have turned her face and parts of her body grey and her nose and hands black. I have tried many different methods and products with no avail. I most recently tried using rubbing alcohol and that works a little, but not much. I have purchased new eyes and silicone lips for her, but I want to clean her plush and get the colour back before I glue them on. I am now considering finding a colour mach in fabric dye and giving her a rubdown with that.

hi joe good to see you posting again. grey is hard to get out have you tried using a toothbrush after wiping her with alcohol then wipe with alcohol again.
i remember someone on TDF i think it was samara78 she wash her used teddy babe like 8-10 times with alcohol letting it dry between washes.

Thanks for your reply carlys_guy, you are right. The alcohol seams to be working slowly with lots of work. I have banished Buffy from the couch for a while so I can put Mindy there and keep working with the alcohol while I watch TV in the evenings, until she is clean. Then I will clean here again with Woolite so that she doesn't end up smelling like an old wino. I will try a tooth brush too.
I cant wait to get her new silicone lips on her, but I want her to be nice and clean first.
