Default The Movie Thread

I see we have a music thread, but what about a movie thread? Perhaps a movie that you've just watched?

I'll start with a movie I was watching today (it's one of the few I have on DVD):

Das Boot (1981)
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0082096/

My favourite scene is when the German crew is singing along to the Tipperary song.

A great movie

The ultimate "doll" movie and probably the greatest scifi movie ever.

Blade Runner by Ridley Scott

watched this so many times

Can I mention 2? Well, without waiting for a response, I will mention them both anyway.

Brazil - a staggeringly good film that just reveals more layers every time you watch it. I hated it the first time I saw it, and I don't know what possessed me to try it again, but I did, and as it started to make sense, I grew to love it. I heard it described as the film 1984 should have been but wasn't, and that seems an entirely fair perspective to me.

There will be Blood - criminally overlooked but a staggering film with a conflict at its heart that can be viewed at a personal, corporate or societal level and for my money, is the best piece of cinema I've ever seen.

(as for the previously mentioned films above, I loved Das Boot and Bladerunner but to my shame have never watched Serpico due to a mild Al Pacino allergy)

I take full responsibility for all the ill-informed opinion in my post

Thank you for posting Ray. My favourite sci-fi film. After all I named my first doll after Pris. Have you seen my effort?

If we was allowed to list a hundred films it still wouldnt be enough for me as im mad on films. Seen so many and like so many different genres. Manhunter, leon amd man on fire are a few of my favourites.. I hope to get some suggestions here that ive not seen as im slowly running out
