I read somewhere that Far Eastern despots were using sex chairs centuries ago. The unsuspecting victim-to-be was lured into the chair, thinking it was just a chair, and found herself bound at the wrists and ankles (not quite sure how they wangled that bit). Anyway, once she was bound she was trapped. Parts of the chair were removable and others could be moved to basically position the victim for the despot to have his wicked way!

No idea what they looked like.

He was also extremely fat and the chair was to aid him in positioning. I think the idea was that he sat back while she straddled him. the two handles sticking up would be for the prostitute's hands.
