Default Dolls sold in the UK

Ive been here looking for a long time. I joined recently, once I decided to make my first purchase. I see there is a lot of UK members, a lot of dolls, I think it is hard not to want a second or a third doll to tick all the boxes, or fit all situations.

So, I cant help but wonder, how many Dolls are sold in the UK each year? I know its doubtful anyone has the exact answer, but some of you have been here a long time and must have a good idea. Maybe even a vendor could make a good guesstimate based on their sales and their perceived market share.

Im wondering why nobody in the UK is making these dolls in numbers? lots of empty units, lots of people with skills and no job... I appreciate it probably costs hundreds more per doll, that would be saved on shipping, import duties and peace of mind though surely?

Am I missing something?

A difficult one to answer - but one doll vendor I have used twice has the following stats:

4280 sales in 8 months.

This is a vendor who sells dolls/heads only on the global market. This figure is based on the order number increment between two time periods.

Sooo... quite a lot.

Yes I know its going to be hard to define. Nobody knows for sure, but I think both replies above back up my initial feeling, its pretty big. I wonder how long it will be until there is enough UK interest for a DollCon type event for owners and potential owners. More dolls are purchased than destroyed each year Im sure, so it can only keep growing.

the UK already has a doll meet and they get around 20 -30 members so i don't know if a con would be worth the effort.
