Default Has anyone used the magnetic M16 connector?

Hi All

I searched in these forums regarding the magnetic M16 connector but didn't find any info. It's basically a M16 bolt in 2 parts that makes changing heads easier.

If anyone has any experience with this gadget I'd be grateful for their feedback regarding it's usefulness.

Thanks.

Yes, I have the magnetic connector for my newer doll (the 163C), and I like it a lot. It makes changing the heads easier because there is no twisting, so I can even change the heads without removing the wigs.
Before I fitted it there were also issues where the TPE on the neck snagged on the head as it was being screwed in, even after powdering. The magnetic connector has stopped the damage that was occurring.

It is different to the new quick release that works with the existing M16 thread, the magnetic connector has a portion that you can screw into the doll then the top part slots in. I have concerns that over repeated use, the new quick release may damage the threads of the M16 connector, but we will have to wait and see.

The only issue I've had is that I had the neck piece screwed in too far at one point, and one of the heads fell off as I was repositioning the doll. Fortunately there was someone there to catch.

The magnetic connector is not cheap, but I'm glad I got it. I ordered mine from DollsFrance and it was dispatched directly from the manufacturer.

Faaar from cheap! Must be made of gold...

I'm investigating doing this on the cheap with some readily available hardware. Just waiting on delivery of the parts.

Does anyone have any 'post December 2018' connector information?

Nothing so cheap, I think it is a platinum-titanium alloy

If you can make a cheaper version, I will give it a try.

The heads that I've received recently have all turned up with the quick release connectors... Great for changing heads on standing dolls but useless for girls that you are sleeping with.

I'm attempting to source some cheap m16 head connectors to stockpile as I personally prefer the traditional one's to heads popping off when your giving your girl a cuddle... Thought that I had left all that behind years ago when I moved from manequinns to TPE.

Can you grab us a photo of this new connector please shamus? I'm interested to see what it's like.

Cheers

Technically I don't like them, the ball push down the thread this will cause problems in time.
Practically I do, they are a lot easier. Emma's fall was saved by the head releasing somehow.
