4woods faces usually don't do much for me - I tend to see them as somewhat cool and saccharine. This is different - the downward tilt of the head seems to convey a feeling of knowingness, but the eyes are not lowered in sadness or submission, rather they are raised towards the viewer in an almost conspiritorial fashion; they draw you in to the picture.
