Playstation 4 pro, 45inch 4k TV with full 5.1 surround sound. I like to think of myself as someones that enjoys all games, but I mostly play games like Uncharted, Last of Us, Horizon Zero Dawn, Rocket League etc etc.

Finding the time to play my Playstation is the only problem.

I highly recommend Horizon Zero Dawn, if you enjoyed Uncharted and Last of Us.

I got my first PS4 near launch time, it was slowly dying, then PS4 Pro came out, so I just traded my old PS4 for a new one, got a good price for it. Now I got a new PS4 that's better.

I'm not in any rush about VR, I'll only touch it if I need to develop for it.

You should be excited, there are things coming to VR that are amazing, and not only games. Even the design kits in early stages are great for helping developing and architecture, even in anatomical surgery practices. Unity is getting older now and the new kits are even better, This is just the beginning !
I find it hard to go back to 2D games, they are just less interesting now, and some kits can help make 2d into vr (heavily dependant on the game though) !
Developing in vr just now is very time consuming but results can be worth it.

Hey Waspie, don't get me wrong VR is going places and will get better. I've used all the VR headsets that are out on the market, even the not so great converted phone holder VR headsets. I've seen the possibilities of VR from all departments and it's still young, so people are learning and playing with it. I love the visions and passion that people have for it at the moment, it's great.

What I meant about VR in my view is it's current stage for video games, that it doesn't interest me. VR for games is limited to racing, flying, diving simulations or a fixed characters in a room / path, I'm sure there are better games coming but the ones I've played on Steam and PS were fun for five minutes, then it got boring, because of it's limitations.

Don't get me wrong, we've got to start somewhere, I will be buying one in the future when it's better and has more decent content, just not now. The current games on the market don't convince me to fork out for a headset. Until there are games that are at the same level as controller based games, I wont be buying one for myself.

I'll happily use VR at events and arcades which I have done many times and loved it. Even saw Hatsune Miku in a VR game were she song and danced, that was awesome.

I know about developing for VR, it's a bit of a pain, but yeah the results are rewarding. I'm trying to push for it or at least get ready for it.

Oh yeah, VR porn is pretty good as well, they're the biggest players for VR movies

I agree about the lack of games and content, but here are some i recommend for VR. Mainly on Oculus Rift
The Mage's Tale
From Other Suns (one of the best and forerunners) imo
Resident Evil 7 Biohazard (ps4 and possibly coming to pc) same with Skyrim
Star Trek bridge Crew (a bit short but fun with friends)
Primordian (i'm helping with this and not released yet)
Eve Valkyrie Warzone
Battlezone
In Death
Project Cars 1 & 2 (awesome)
Dirt Rally

There's quite a few more but these stand out and the future stuff is worth looking into

So, what are the minimum system requirements to be considered a "Gamer"?
I mean both types of hardware and software, electronical and biometrical.
I've been playing games on and off since before the days of Space invaders at 20 cents a pop.
My current pc hardware is nothing like you describe, but it works fine and I've played many an rts and sim game in the past and still like the older ones, so if by "Gamers" you actually mean "Fanatical Gamers", then I'm not really.

Pete.
