New to dolls, new here

Hi all.

I am a total newbie to dolls, aware of them but had never really given much consideration to them. Then I stumbled across some posts about adult 1 6 size dolls and became intrigued had a look around and found here.

I know next to nothing but am interested in starting my doll journey by getting a 1 6 sized doll or two and hope people who are into them and knowledgable about them will being able to help me find out more about this.

1/6th would be the likes of Phicen dolls and 1/6 BJD's around 12 inches in height.

Phicen you can find on Amazon and are a steel posable skeleton with a silicone skin over the top.

1/6BJD are also on Ebay, but thats a world of its own I know little about

There’s also a slightly cheaper 1/6 scale called Jiaou Doll. You usually have to buy heads separately though.

There is a UK seller called Movie Figures that are based in High Wycombe that do sell Phicens with speedy delivery (it is plus shipping though). I bought my first two there but got most from eBay or direct from TBLEAGUE, who are the Phicen makers..

My most expensive one is an LD Doll which cost me about £250! However, she is completely seamless with integrated feet and hands with finger wires for posing! She also has a vagina (called secret hole by the makers)!

The biggest expense is clothing though! What a rip off! Barbie clothes are usually too small but cheap! Why can’t Phicen clothes be as cheap? You pay nearly as much as adult clothes for some of them!

I am still in the finding out more stage but welcoming one or more into my home will happen. I will be looking at the makes that have been suggested, look at the shops and sites suggested.

All the dolls posted are gorgeous, I have always been attracted to slim petite brunette women and they perfect examples of this, just a bit more compact than usual. The mention of a secret pocket is very erotic and I have seen photos of them being enjoyed. Is it only the LD dolls that have them or do others too?

The words you want to hear are Phicen TBLeague. There are other manufacturers but they are generally held out as the brand that others are compared to and made compatible with so thats the route tht I would go.

I have a 1/12 (Trixie) rather than a 1/6, who looks after the heads on the shelves here.... Well someone has to feed them and brush their teeth and try getting Elves top do that job.

I've not taken too many pics of her except when I found the Macro function on my old point and click.

the 12thsies are the same as the 6thsies but smaller (and cheaper... Well, until you try to cloth them!!!).

Phicen Tbleague are well made with soft rubber skin over an articulated metal skeleton.

The things that I think are wrong with them is that that the face is hard plastic so difficult to convey with expression what she is thinking (but you compensate by doing that through her actions).

Also the hair is a bit too course for the size of girl.

Those aside I highly recommend.... Except... a 1/12 phicen will cost you around £40 with two pairs of feet, three paids or hands and some basic clothing... a pair of shoes for her will cost you as much as she cost so if possible buy girl in a set with clothing.

When I said my LD Doll had a vagina, the doll is only 12 inches tall and the top of a Phicen male penis only just fits in! You couldn’t even get your little finger in!

I have several Jiaou dolls and they aren’t too bad to start with! The problem with these little ones is that they pull you down the rabbit hole! I’ve spent more on them than a decent full sized doll! I also have two 1/12 scale minis but they all pose well! However, the soft feet ones look good but they are almost impossible to stand unless they are leaning on something!

I think it depends what you want from dolls! Yes the minis are great but the full sized ones give you company! They’re not just sex dolls!

Thanks for clarifying that.

I guess I am looking for both and hoped to get it all it one compact doll. I do really like the small 1 6 style dolls and think I would enjoy one or two as company and to photograph.

I will keep exploring the forum, hopefully getting advice and knowledge passed to me from experienced forum members to find out what kind of doll or dolls would be best for me.

Welcome to the forum. Hope you find a little one that floats your boat. I have some 1/3 bjd's. The only thing in common with the 1/6 is the price of clothes, especially the offical stuff. Cheaper clothes can be found on ali express, which I find is good enough for every day wear, just lacks the quality and doesn't always fit as good.
