About To Order Oksana

Hi,

Just about to place an order with Anatomical Doll for Oksana + Body3. Have been in contact with Oleg who is very friendly and helpful. However I'm unsure of delivery method. She advised I speak to Everhard. I have sent a private message but I'm waiting for reply.

Anyone else had experience of shipping of these dolls? I would like to know...

1. Does the shipping fee of $765 cover import duty into UK?
2. Do I collect the doll from Heathrow airport or is the doll delivered to my door?

Thanks to anyone who can offer advice.

Regards

Hi, Coombech, welcome and congratulations. I havent dealt with mechadoll but I,d imagine all companies run similar policies. You need to speak to Oleg again to clarify shipping costs and most companies arrange to ship to your door if that is what you want.
My realdoll was delivered to my door on a day I aranged to be in.
Hope this helps a little?

Sorry I meant to say Anatomical not Mechadoll. DOH!:o

Hi

No the shipping amount will not include import duties and taxes.

It will depend on where your doll is being shipped from. If the doll is shipped within the EU you do not have to pay VAT. If outside the EU you will pay import and VAT.

Assuming your doll is coming from Russia you will have to pay import duty and VAT on the cost of the doll + shipping etc.

As a rough guide we generally advise buyers to add the cost of the doll and accessories to the cost of shipping and then multiply that figure by 1.26. That will give you a rough idea of the total cost of the doll delivered to you in the UK. ( Import duty and VAT for products from outside the EU come to roughly 26% of the cost of the doll, delivery and insurance etc.)

HTH :)

Thanks for the replies guys. I have been in contact with Oleg at Anatomical Doll and she quoted $765 shipping to Heathrow. When I asked if that included import duty and delivery to my door she advised I speak to Everhard or Carl at Coverdoll. I have messaged them but haven't had responses yet. Hopefully they will respond soon?

Regards,
Chris

I have pm'd them both on TDF.

Hopefully one or the other will reply shortly. :tu

Thank you so much, really appreciate your help! :)

Hi Chris,

Oleg is a 'he'. ;)

I think Anatomical Doll once had an intermediary in the US to organize delivery to one's door. But I haven't heard of such an option anywhere else. He couldn't offer me such a service for Germany (end of 2011).
So I'm pretty sure you either have to pick the box up at the airport yourself or you charge a broker yourself, who is specialized in exactly that: dealing with customs and delivering the box to you.

Everhard 13-08-2013 08:32 PM

I normally use Seko at Heathrow airport to process the crate through customs and arrange a van to deliver it to my door. Seko's charges seem reasonable -- in comparison with VAT anyway. The Seko folks are used to putting big dolls through customs.

Their efficiency has varied over the years, but last time I took delivery of a doll from overseas (2011) the transaction went well.

As AndyJ says, Oleg is a bloke. His missus does the dolls' make-up, I believe.

coombech 13-08-2013 10:37 PM

Thank you Andy_J and Everhard for your help. I apologise I didn't realise Oleg was a bloke until he mailed the invoice to me:o He also gave me contact details of Carl at Coverdoll who took delivery of a doll recently I believe?

He has said that the shipping agent will contact me when the doll arrives at Heathrow airport to inform me of taxes. I can then arrange delivery through the shipping agent to my home.

@Everhard I can use Seko as you recommend them. Not sure who Carl used, perhaps I will contact him again and ask??

Thank you once again for your help, I appreciate it.

Regards,
Chris

Thanks for your help! Sorry for the late reply but have been ill recently. Those costs seem very reasonable! Were you contacted when the doll arrived at Heathrow?

Thanks

One year I omitted to tell them I was expecting the doll to arrive on the scheduled day. She sat in the warehouse for about a week and she still has impressions in her skin from her clothes. (That was Joanna, a soft and fairly heavy Realdoll.) So, don't wait for them to contact you. You need to contact them!

Before pressing that button please do check that the weight will be OK for you. There was a member photographer here Angelah who was very very enthusiastic but had to sell her lady because she couldn't handle the weight. Likewise a lady here has sold her 160 size doll of another make because of weight.

I'm not expert on the Anatomicals and Angelah's from memory was only in the region of 26kg or so but she had difficulty with that. It's a lot of money to spend and then to lose significantly upon if after receipt you find she's on the less manageable side for you.

Best wishes

Harem

Harem

This crops up every time a new doll owner is talking about a sil or TPE girl and I know it can seem lie we are trying to put people off with harping on about it every............. bloody.................. time

But of all the things to consider about a solid doll purchase it is the NUMBER 1 consideration. it doesnt matter a pickle how wonderful or anatomically correct or beautiful a doll is if you simply cant manoeuvre it about, so please research the weight, and try the weight out. A doll is always a dead weight in human form.

I know the Anatomical that Harem refers to and she was NOT 26 kilos! I got her in and out of the car for Angelah, and she was more in the 30's i'd say. Add the fact that her spine joint allowed for easy movement and carrying her meant not only handing the weight, but also supporting the whole body and hips together when doing so.

Fantastic Doll, not saying anything bad about it, but certainly required back and arm strength for lifting.

Brilliant!

That's really good news.

It will be great to see another Anatomical around - they are underappreciated.

Best wishes

Yup, she ain't no featherweight doll and Angelah is a very small lady, she needed help whenever she wanted to move the doll. I also reckon Natasha/Zina's body 4 is about 32 (give or take) KG. Pretty light weight for me but I can see even this weight giving problems to some new owners not used to lifting heavy awkward things.

Very nice, I like the Echo head as well. I'd also love a Christy head for a completely different look, perhaps one day.:)

Yup, I was the person who bought the AD from Angelah mentioned ealier, I picked her up about 10 months ago. She has the Oksana (now called Natasha) and Anna (now called Zina) heads.
There are few topics on this AD section with photos of both the girls (sharing the same body), just look for threads started with my username.;)

Hey hun ,
Oh wow she is FAB and love all your photos :) Yes the Christy head is lovely too ,they all are :).
Can i ask where do you store her ?

Hugs and have a dolly day xxxx

FlashGordoll 18-11-2015 09:19 AM

Thank you Marylinsdoll,:)
Usually she just sits around the house on the sofa with the other 2 doll tenants while I'm at work. If I've got family or friends coming over the AD body gets put in her crate which has a hanging bracket for the dolls eye bolt to hang from. I also built a doll stand so sometimes the AD spends a day or two hanging around on it, she shares the stand with the resident Mechadoll. (Having a stand for dolls aids greatly for dressing the lower half).
If you're going to store the doll for more than a few days hanging the body up is the best option because it will eliminate any possibility of compression marks. You could (or your hubby) easily put a simple hanging bracket on any wall or even inside a wardrobe if you wanted as long as whatever your screwed into is strong enough, if you don't plan on using the crate you could remove the crate bracket and use that.;)

Hi Marylinsdoll, good idea with the built in wardrobe, also good forward thinking to have a wheeled chair available.:tu

I think Gibmodoll (this forum) makes good solid stands that would suite an AD, so might well be worth contacting him about it. Price according to this link: http://www.uklovedollforums.co.uk/fo...ead.php?t=1092 is £150 which is very good value. I'm a metal worker myself and to make that for that money is good going. I made a custom stainless steel stand with a winch and it took me bloody ages to make, it would have probably cost over £800 if I actually made it for anyone.
I've seen stands made from plumbing parts but to be honest it would be easier and better value to buy one of Gibs.

Congrats on putting your deposit down, yes it will most probably be a long wait but at the end you'll have a work of art that you'll admire and cherish. . . Also the wait will give you plenty of time for more research and clothes shopping.;)
