Removing make-up Ooopsy!
 

Alyssa needed a bit of a tidy up this morning :whistle:

Anyway. I merely put a tiny dot of blusher on the brush and it's way too much already. Adding more or covering it might well compound the issue.

What's the best way to remove blusher (actually eye shadow) or do I have to wear it off with vigorous activity :eek:

Also the lippy (again eye shadow with a dab of gloss on top) seems to leach beyond the lips slightly. I did take the best care to my capability but ...

Underapplication and subtlety is key!

Mineral oil / baby oil will remove the powder makeup.

Drip some onto a sponge, and gently wipe.

The oil will evaporate or soak in after a little time.

THIS IS WHY YOU HAVE A SPARE HEAD!!! :D

As Algae says above.

For application, dab the brush in the blusher, then brush it over a piece of kitchen towel first, then apply to her cheeks. This will take off the heavy application on the brush and leave you with a lighter application on her.

Repeat as necessary.

Building up is the key.

Also.....Bloody good first try mate, dont be too hard on yourself!

Thats not a bad first attempt at all matey.

I use extra virgin olive oil and a white micro fibre cloth but should be the same result as algae's.

Be gentle, use short straight movements on the lips as you are trying to emove, not redistribute. Keep refolding the cloth to use a fresh clean area.

I'll be honest, the sort of lippy that you have used I would not have.

For starter lippy try using eye shadow then perhaps move up to lipstick rather than lip gloss.

To put the lippy back on using lipstick don't apply it directly but rather use a proper brush used for oil painting. Don't overload the brush and put it on in smooth movements. To finish it use a water colour brush to create smooth natural looking lips.

If you find doing their lips is a quick job you are not doing it right. In general I will lose about half an hour on a set of lips... sometimes much longer when I need to clean and repeat a few times.

The blusher on the cheeks is not bad matey but the lack of colour around the eyes makes emphasises it a bit too much.

You confused me with saying Blusher and eye shadow in the same line.

Just to confirm. eye shadow are the small coloured squared. blusher is normally in large circles and its like compressed sherbert. Hang on, sure I've got a pic of my makeup try somewhere...

I use a lot more brushes than that now and I've added lippy's to the armoury. Those big circles are the blushers.... Although so are the two large squares in the compact on the right... I actually may as well just have the blusher set and that one compact as those are pretty much all I use on them (plus the lippys).

Keep at it. You will be surprised at how fast your skills improve,

:tu it doesnt take much as TPE 'grabs' the make up being porous with naturally textured surface.

A hint on wig placement:

Put you thumb under her nose and index finger between her eyebrows, then keeping that measure put your thumb between her eyebrows and where your finger now touches her forehead is where her hairline should be. Adjust a little to taste, ofc. :tu

Lol, this takes me back a bit... I remember that it was Mr K and Algae advising me how to apply Yvettes makeup a couple of years back. The girls all say thanks to both of you (and to Mandos) for the advice that has saved them so much public embarrassment :tu

Huge improvement just on the 2nd attempt. You'll soon have it sussed. I have days when emma looks stunning and then the next time she looks like john wayne gacey so i just wash it all off and start again.

I wanted to have fun with colours but now it's here I find myself being very conservative. So everything is eye shadow essentially. I dabbed a clear lip gloss on top.

I am going to watch a lot of YouTube before addressing the eyes. They can so easily be made to look terrible!
