Morning all,

It’s been one crazy week but, she’s finally arrived. Unfortunately DPD took 4 days to deliver due to the impact the Royal Mail strikes have had.

She was promptly cleaned and has been powdered a couple of times since she arrived. She was delivered with an awful mark on her left leg but, thanks to previous advice I’ve received here, I’ve managed to reduce the marks significantly. This was reported to Lucid Toys within one hour of her arrival but, their response was extremely disappointing, they absolved any responsibility blaming “external factors” which couldn’t be further from the truth. The only thing they offered as a solution was to invoice me for some TPE stain removal cream which is extremely disappointing. I feel really upset having to share this poor experience as Lucid Toys were absolutely exemplary with the order service but, sadly failed miserably when it came to after delivery support.

I’m pleased to introduce Olivia and have uploaded a few pictures to this post, a few couple of unexpected things are:

The weight - whilst I knew she wasn’t light, as a disabled man the weight is genuinely a the top end in terms of my ability.

She’s very petite - the 6YE listings suggest she’s a B cup but, after measuring she’s actually a firm A Cup. Whilst the measurements are all as expected, when you’ve never had a doll before it’s really hard to visualise the dimensions. Fortunately she’s not too petite for my tastes but, could be for some.

The canal depth isn’t remotely close to the advertised level.

Some things I’m struggling with:

Setting the eyes is hard work, I think I’ll probably stick to one set of eyes per head.

Wig static - this is really hard, I’m going to buy some dryer sheets and wash all the wigs today in the hope I can fix this issue.

Setting the wig - again, I’ve struggled with making the wig look right.

Her joints are very stiff, I know this is due to her newness but, it does make positioning her very difficult and leaded me onto the next one.

She does have standing feet but, I’m struggling massively with getting her to stand, it’s hard work and I’ve not found the knack yet, despite the standing feet, she urgently needs some shoes to protect her delicate feet.

Things I would do differently with my next doll purchase:

• absolutely 100% buy one with finger bones, the wire fingers aren’t good enough in my opinion.

• I didn’t need the second head and do actually regret that part of the purchase, £255 just seems very expensive for it.

• the main doll body doesn’t have the quick release head connector, it’s the screw type which is disappointing, I do have one head quick connector but was hoping someone could point me in the right direction for buying the body side (not sure of this is possible).
