![]() I've waited for a week before posting the results for fear that it all might go horribly wrong but no. It's all good.
I have an old Kimber that is non-standing and I've always wanted Pip to show off her figure standing up. So I bought a pair of Converse style pumps and have built up the heel and ankle section with four layers of shaped cardboard, glued on to one another with mitre bond glue. The result is an extremely tough, flexible inner section that allows for the foot to slide in but not to twist or weaken or for the foot to be mishapen over standing time. Anyway, Pip has been happily standing now for over a week and there you go ...it can be done ![]()

Good work! When standing non-standing dolls I've always gone with lots of socks to pad the shoes out, but your solution sounds more robust!

When they say " the squirrel goes round the tree then in the hole" that's for laces only 😂
