Great stuff - I don't pretend to understand how this lens works better than your other ones (still learning about f numbers and so on) but the result is good

I had it on auto. My camera chose:

F-stop: f/2.8
Exposure Time: 1/250 sec.
ISO Speed: ISO-640

Hmm... ISO-640 is unreasonably high and will cause grain (as visible on her tummy). If you can, fix ISO to 100 or 200 and slow down the shutter. Such a high shutter speed is not necessary with our girls, unless you have shaky hands!

Familiarise yourself with the 'Exposure Triangle' if you are unaware.
